Wired.com’s latest Windows Mobile title suggests a Windows Mobile Hate campaign ” How Microsoft Blew It With Windows Mobile “. If you go through the article they have gone through some of the flaws in the platform and what the future might hold for Windows mobile with WM7. The article is well worth the read if you are a windows mobile fan and the comments section are on fire with iphone and WM fanbois.

Some things they talk about

  • the Gartner reports where the last quarter Windows Mobile’s market share plummeted to 7.9 percent.
  • iPhone’s consumer centric device , appstore and apps
  • Peter Hoddie, CEO of Kinoma thinks WM is a great platform and talks about iPhone, whose apps he described as “beautiful,” which encourages third-party developers to produce apps of similar quality.
  • segmentation in the hardware ecosystem ( android is facing issues with apps in this department )
  • Windows Mobile is still largely focused on enterprise features ( but new devices like the HD2 is trying to bridge the gap )

With the success streak from Microsoft of late.. bing, Windows 7, Zune HD, etc we have high hopes for WM7… What do you think ? lets us know in the comments …
