There's more WP players out there..

What with the media blitzkrieg surrounding the Nokia Lumia phones, here is news of some of the other ‘notables’ in the fray…

Of the two rumored handsets from the Huawei stable, the folks at pocketnow caught hold of the supposed hardware for the Ascend W1.

As with the other WP8 devices hitting the market, this too promises to be a properly color co-ordinated handset. We are sure that there would be many more colors other than the cyan shown here.

It apparently boasts of a WVGA display albeit with less-than-market-standard 512 MB RAM and a 4GB flash. The procesor seems to be a good 1.2 GHz dual core SoC. With these kind of specs, it sure will not be priced alongside the Lumias of the world and we can expect a price range of around $300.

Given the smooth UI of the WP, do you think it makes sense to skimp on the hardware to reduce costs? Or would you rather have a gorgeous phone that functions as well – but at a cost?

Its very simple really, reduced capacity handsets (like the Lumia 610 compared to the 800) it just won’t be able to do as much. But if you don’t need a powerful phone then what’s the problem? [Posted from the 1800PocketPC app]
