The Dark Knight Rises for Nokia Lumia

Nokia is at it again with another exclusive this time it’s a promo app for The Dark Knight Rises. I used to see promo apps for movies on the iPhone and I think this might be one of the first ones for our beloved platform. We have seen exclusive hardware for Lumia Dark Knight with Lumia 800 and the 900 and now we have an app / game to build up hype for a move that is downright the most anticipated title this year. The app is free and available via the Nokia Marketplace and now on to the bad news.

It would seem the app is limited to US because I cant download it on my Lumia 800 :( If you own a Lumia 800 and can download it in the US please do let us know.

According to the description the app has trailers, wallpapers, ringtones, theater locator, and countdown to the release of the move. There’s also a very interesting location-based game powered by Foursquare where you can join team Batman or Bane and take over locations by checking in. Other people with the Dark Knight Rises app can join in and attack or defend the locations.

Dark Knight Rises is a FREE app for Windows Phone ( but probably limited to Lumia devices in the US ) via thenokiablog

Click here or the logo of the app below.. you can even scan the barcode near the logo using bing vision and launch the app directly on your Windows Phone.

Scan this QRcode with Bing vision ( Hit the hardware Search button and click on the small icon that looks like an eye ) on your Phone to download the App to your phone.

Downloaded fine on my Lumia 800 in the UK.

My sister has it on her Lumia 800 too. However, it doesn’t show up in the Nokia Collection section. She had to go to WPCentral or WMPoweruser and click on link or scan the code that took it directly to the app. That was the only way that the app could be found. And it worked.
