Windows Phone WordPress Starter Kit

Windows Phone Starter Kit for WordPress is a plugin that you install on wordpress that will allow you to offer your site’s content via a Windows Phone App. The application is developed by Chris Koenig and is an open-source initiative. The features of the WP7 app inclide the ability to view posts, view comments associated to the posts, and add their own comments.

The code sample contain 2 elements : a WordPress Plugin ( which you have to install via wordpress, will probably only work will self hosted wordpress installations )and the source code for a windows phone application Starter Kit ( which you can customise to your site’s needs )

If you are a blogger then you would have come across WordPress and chances are you will be using it. ( If not you should seriously try it there is no other way to run a blog or a simple site ). Now if you are always on the move and use a Windows Phone 7 there is an official Official WordPress App for WP7. They also have a client for all other major mobile platforms. The purpose of this WP7 app is to create blog posts on the go save it as a draft or publish it and also have features such as the ability to add photos and content to posts, moderate comments, view stats. Automattic and Microsoft seem to be have a great relationship I say this coz Microsoft closed down Live Spaces and managed to port their users over to WordPress. Dont have a blog yet ? Create a new one with the app .. too easy and its completely FREE !!!!

TBlogger ( Travelling Blogger ) is a windows mobile freeware mobile blogging client for Windows Mobile for those of you all who wants to write blog posts on the move.

TBlogger uses a “smart synchronisation” method which allows it to keep a copy of one or more blogs on a mobile device whilst allowing changes to be sent and received from the server using the minimum of bandwidth. TBlogger operates disconnected. You just write your posts and when you’re ready click “synchronise”- it takes care of everything else including batched image upload and naming. This is all particularly useful if you have a 3G mobile phone and can upload from anywhere.

Uploading of images and other files.
Creation and management of categories.
Off-line and on-line operation with easy synchronization.
