GTX Style Skins are every where these days and if you are a fan of the GTX look then you get to have that look for the WM6.5 Titanium screen. The developer or designer in this case is ebbinger_413 from xda-developers. The skin is only available for VGA resolution devices at the moment but he said they will be coming for other resolutions as well.
Install Instructions :
- Goto Settings -> Personal -> Home -> Items and un-check “Windows Default”
- Install GTX Titanium.cab
- Go back to Settings -> Personal -> Home -> Items and re-check “Windows Default”
chris10230 from xda-developers was not happy with the the WM6.5 lock screen slider being on the top of the screen , he tried the hack to add the slider to the bottom of the screen and was not happy with that arrangement as well. So he created a simple hack to move the slider control to the center of the screen. This would make using the slider to unlock the device a lot easier . He has put up 2 versions for download , one with text field underneath the slider , the other one with out the text. Detailed instruction on how to install or uninstall this application is given on the xda-developers thread.
The developer recommends removing any other lockscreen mods or hacks before trying to install this hack as they may have an undesired effect. This was created for the HTS so it might not play nice with other devices.
I haven’t tested this app and the description on the developers site was in Russian and I am guessing this app will show you a snapshot of your current location as seen on google map on your Titanium Home screen on WM6.5 devices. I am also assuming this wont run on anything below wm6.5. I believe you will have an option screen where you can choose the zoomlevel and map type.

There has been a rumor floating around which claims that WM6.5.x will not be getting Adobe Flash 10.1. All this is based on a forum post over at adobe in which one user ( who some people are claiming to be an employee , I fail to understand why ).. What do you guys think ?
The comment was …
As for WinMo, we have made the tough decision to defer support for that platform until WinMo7. This is due to the fact that WinMo6.5 does not support some of the critical APIs that we need.

Long Zheng from istartedsomething.com had a chance to speak with Microsoft and have uncovered more info about the older WM6.5 OS. Windows Mobile 6.5.X will be rebranded as Windows Phones Classic and the devices running this version of the OS as Windows Phones Classic Series. This will not be reflected in retail until the release of WP7S. Windows Phones Classic will shift its focus to emerging markets and enterprise solutions and Rumors also state this version will be free. He also said that 6.5.3 was indicative of the type of ongoing support the platform is likely to receive in the future.
During MWC Microsoft said they expect around 30 more Windows Mobile 6.5 handsets to ship globally before WP7 hits the shelves in Dec 2010. Now the all important question wll you be upgrading to a WM6.5 device this year ? In a recent Gizmodo article Microsoft’s made it clear that they’re finally—and truly—getting back into the game. They also brutally kneecapped their existing phone software, effectively taking Microsoft out of mobile for the next six months. You have to agree with them, Microsoft has not made it clear if these new WM6.5 that will be released in the coming months will be upgradeable to WP7. So many of us who want to upgrade might feel the need to hold of the upgrade a bit longer. What do you guys think ?
WP7 is great there is no denying that but will you spend a good amount of money on a WM6.5 device that might possibly be the end of the line in WM6.X series. Thoughts ?
