The guys from Pocketnow has posted a great hack so that you can increase the number of icons in a row on the WM6.5 start menu.

The hack will resize the application icons and adjust the text labels below them. It can be used on devices running Windows Mobile 6.5 and with a WVGA display like the HD2.

Here is acool looking theme for all WM6.5 resolution. The theme is available as a cab install and I think should be installed to your device memory. I havent tried it personally but the screenshot of the theme looks amazing. If you are a Chef then the ext package is also available so you can add the theme to your next ROM.

WM6.5 users might run into issues with apps which are registered with the ” Owner Name ” and password combination. There are some reported cases where Owner Information icon is missing in Windows Mobile 6.5 Settings.

chriscsh from xda-developers has posted up a way to get the amazing Android HTC Sense UI on your Windows Mobile. The Hero look can now be integrated with Titanium via a theme and some plug-ins. It doesn’t have all of the customizing abilities of the real Sense UI, but it looks amazing. It’s available for QVGA and VGA devices running WM6.5 or 6.5.1. Up until the last couple of years Windows Mobile faced no major threats in the touch screen smartphone division. As a result of this the innovation in Windows Mobile over the years has been minimal too. Check out the video below which shows the evolution of Windows Mobile.

Up until WM6.5 it looks the bloody same, no major changes in the UI department from Microsoft ( kudos to HTC for bringing out HTC Cube, TouchFlo and Samsung for its ToucWiz UI ).

Pocketnow has put together another video of the new WM6.5 Build 23502

It works for what it was designed to do. Change any image of yours to the background image of the 6.5 lockscreen.

Known Issues:
Does not change the image on the taskbar. Currently looking into the solution for it.

To Do:
Add ability to change the lockscreen slider to wherever user wants on screen.
