Today, Russian website wp7forum.ru leaked images that shed more light on the Tango Update for Windows Phone. The info backed up some of changes we all were already aware of from previous leaks and added some new info to the rumor mill. They show some improvements to the OS in whole and some new limitations as well. We know about Tango Updating via Zune and the added support to many countries. We know about some media control changes, the possibility of folders, and lower specs required. Today we learned more about the lower specs.
Microsoft’s next major Windows Phone update ‘Tango’ is rumoured to be with us in Q2 2012, some features of the new os are now starting to emerge. The first is the new OS will be optimized to only require 256MB Ram (current hardware uses 512MB RAM) and another rumour is the OS will have Folder support like the Homebrew Folders app we featured last week.
WMPowerUser have posted what they claim to be a leaked roadmap of Windows Phone product cycle ? As we can see it says that Mango sets out to bring new features , languages and countries and according to this roadmap it should have launched in Q4 2011 and we know that to be true. This document claims that Tango to be launched in Q1 2012 with ” Products with best prices ” ? now there were earlier rumors that claimed that Tango will introduce cheaper hardware targeting developing countries so perhaps this refers to that low end devices to break in to developing market. We expect to see the official Tango announcement at CES.
