Windows Phone Marketplace will have support for credit card purchases, operator billing, and ad-supported content and a try-before-you-buy scheme (though WP7S devs can choose what kind of trial period they want to offer). You’re given a “panoramic view” where you can browse categories and titles, see featured items, and get details with ratings, reviews, screen shots, and pricing information. Purchased apps can be pinned to your Quick Launch screen, saving you a couple taps for your favorite and most frequently-used items.

Looks like Marketplace on Windows Phone 7 will not be restricted by regional content restrictions… Nice..

In a companion post on the Windows Phone Blog, we have unveiled the highly anticipated Windows Phone 7 Series. For the first time ever, we are bringing together Xbox LIVE games and the Zune music and video experience to phones. Developers are already speculating about the app platform and tools. All I can tell you is that we are going big at MIX10, March 15-17.

I will proudly say that we are about to launch a very compelling mobile development platform – arguably the best in our history. Even if you can’t join us at MIX this year be sure to follow Charlie Kindel, @ckindel for regular updates on the developer story for Windows Phone.

For the first time ever, we are bringing together Xbox LIVE games and the Zune music and video experience to phones. We won’t make you wait any longer. Go ahead and check out this video of our new Windows Phone running on real hardware.
Just about a year ago we took a hard look at the state of the smartphone industry – particularly at design. Our view is that the predominant user interface design – screens of icons to manage and navigate – has become a little outdated. It’s a UI paradigm that was created for the PC, where it’s EASY to have lots of separate apps which you navigate between, spend time with, and operate with a large screen and mouse. We said to ourselves “a phone is not a PC… it’s got a small screen, no mouse, and you want to use it not just for long periods but in short bursts—it should work great in the tiniest of moments.” We wanted to solve for “glanceability” – so you could get data and information without constantly going in and out of applications. We knew that we would need to innovate further to deliver something in which each of us, and each of our customers can take delight. So here it is.

Microsoft has clearly listened to feedback from people and brought a new, fresh approach to the smartphone experience that is beautiful, powerful and compelling “

Well this is it people.. <del datetime="2010-02-15T14:07:52+00:00">Windows Mobile 7</del> Windows Phone 7. A whole new UI with a new name. It looks quite nice.

Here are some of the features :

3 dedicated hardware buttons on all WP7 phones : Back, Home, Search

Windows Phone 7 has got a lot in common with Zune HD UI

Bing Search and Map integration is awesome.. I might even consider replacing Google Search + Maps on mobile if the search results are satisfactory ..

live icons on home screen for windows Phone 7 ( gets updated automagically ;) from facbook, windows live, etc )

Five hubs in Windows Phone Series 7 1) People 2) Pics 3) Office 4) Music + Video 5) Games [ xBox ]

G-Sensor , Multitouch and Compass to work across all OEM in similar fashion. Does that mean common API for developers to work with ??

Core Specification for all Windows Phone 7 are same across all devices .. less fragmentation on windows phone 7.. yippee

First windows phone 7 will come holiday season( Christmas ) 2010

NO OEM UI will replace live tiles on windows Phone home screen but they can extend it

no Adobe Flash in version one of Windows Phone 7 but they are not against it so it will / might come in the future
