Retail Insider App: Not Just For Stores, WP Owners Must Help Sell WP’s Too

Many of us WP owners are more than just owners of the WP platform, we are Windows Phone enthusiasts and WinPhan7′s. I know I’m not alone in my daily battle to bring a higher recognition, appreciation, and acceptance from Android and iPhone owners alike to the WP platform. Ben “The PC Guy” has turned his quest on a daily basis to do the same, into an advertisement campaign. Are you looking to help and bring a “street level” recognition and acceptance to WP? Looking for some help from Microsoft? Hidden inside the WP Marketplace, Retail Insider is an outstanding free app meant to help mobile carriers and stores better sell WP, but the developers of the app strongly encourage the rest of us to use it too! They just added 15 new countries to their support list, including Australia. I had the opportunity last week to correspond via email with one of the team members responsible for creating content for the app. They were so pleasurable, I felt it would have been a disservice if I didn’t try to bring more recognition to what it is they do and get more people involved in helping!

Carbon : twitter client finally released on to the Marketplace

Mehdoh is a great twitter client but ~~with the developer stating they have discontinued further development many of us were looking for alternatives~~ ( apparently that is not the case ) and Carbon seemed like a good option , but the client was delayed for quite some time. But now its finally avilable for download from the marketplace , sadly there is no trial version available ( there are rumors a trial version might be coming out with the next update ), jump past the break for screenshots and download link. Good news for all you Twitter addicts constantly uploading pics on twitpics. Microsoft has done some behind the curtains tweaking and twitpics are now visible on the people and pictures hub in addition to pictures already syncd from Facebook and Skydrive. Earlier the hub only used to show a static link to the image. This wasn’t offered by any update but just seems a change Microsoft did the way Windows Phones connect and fetch from the cloud. Hopefully we will be seeing more of these updates.

We are spoilt for choice when it comes to twitter apps, but once Twitter integration is added to the People Hub, lot of these apps will not be required, but till then we need twitter apps. If you don’t already have a twitter client here is a new one to consider. Features and Press release below

WP7 App Description

The TwittWp is a powerful twitter application for windows phone 7 devices. Its user inferface is customization and easy to use. It is specially designed for twitter users. We try to suit users’needs to get information fast. With the exception of the same features as all other Twitter apps, such as the timeline, direct massages, mentions, reply tweets, and post the tweets, it also includes many new cool features.
