Touch HD Encoder

Touch HD Encoder

Instructions:

  1. Download http://gm.mainframe.no/stuff/Encoder_1.03.rar
  2. Unpack the RAR to a directory of your choosing (on your computer).
  3. Download Nero AAC Encoder from http://www.nero.com/eng/downloads-ne…-aac-codec.php and copy NeroAacEnc.exe to the tools folder of the place where you extracted the RAR. Sorry that you have to do this, but Nero’s license doesn’t allow me to distribute the encoder and it is currently the best AAC encoder.
  4. Download and install Avisynth from http://downloads.sourceforge.net/avi…9&big_mirror=0
  5. Run Encoder.exe
  6. Select the videos you would like to encode and the output folder, hit “Start!”.
  7. Once finished encoding, transfer the encoded video to your Blackstone and use Album or WMP to view them. ( Coreplayerwill not play it )

A few notes..
If your source videos are SD (DVD, PAL etc), use the default 500 kbit/s or 400kbit/s..
If your source videos are HD (1080p/720p), use 750kbit/s.

Remember, there is absolutely no point to use higher bitrate, because the quality won’t really increase and you will use more battery life with higher bitrate!
Here‘s a sample file of what this encoder is able to do. Copy to device and play it.

Smartphones head to head !!

by Saijo George on December 24, 2008

in News,vs

Do you want to see a faceoff between the major Mobile operating system and hardware. The Gadget Show from five.tv has done just that. I for one am not convinced with their test method. They had 4 test in total and each test saw one of the device eliminated, so the 1st handset that got eliminated had no chance to prove itself even if it could have won in the later tests. How about graphic performance test instead of how fast you can type an SMS ?

Lets meet the contenders
1) HTC Touch HD – on Windows Mobile 6.1
2) G1 – on Android
3) iPhone 3G – OS X iPhone
4) Blackberry Storm – Blackberry OS

Who do you think should be the winner ?

XPERIA X1 Panels on Touch HD

XPERIA X1 Panels on Touch HD

Windows Mobile guru Paul from MoDaCo has just put up a cab installation to get the XPERIA X1 Panels on the Touch HD. ( be aware this will most like not work on any resolution other than WVGA ).

What’s works
- It works almost completely
- Performance of the actual panels is great

What’s not working ( not yet @least)
- No ‘Panels’ button the HD but you do get a Panels icon on the start menu
- It takes a few seconds for the panel select app to open
- The FM Radio and Media Xperience panels don’t work properly on the HD
- The TouchFlo 3D plugin has to be disabled or pressing the home key returns you to TF3D

What’s coming up in future versions
- Speed boost!
- Option to map to hardware button
- Requests? ( let Paul know about it )

Install Instructions
- Disable TF3D from Start -> Settings -> Today -> Items
- Install main CAB from below
- REBOOT
- Run Panels from the start menu to choose panel
- Optionally install additional panels: get em here

Did you know this about the HTC Touch HD ?

by Saijo George on September 26, 2008

in News

Brandon Miniman from pocketnow.com has posted 5 things about the Touch HD that you might not have noticed…

1. It has a new version of Opera Mobile :)

Its got Flash support, a Zoom slider along the bottom instead of just double tap to zoom and a search bar along the bottom to top it all of a neat 3D tab to switch between open websites

2. The camera doesn’t have a flash :(

No more flashlight application for my HTC

3. In order to take a picture with the camera, you must tap on the screen – there is no hardware button to use :(

Nothing in the world should be perfect , so lets take the Camera button off

4. It includes a program called “In Call Recording” which presumably lets you record phone conversations :) :) :)

If this is true , I wont hold the camera thingi against you HTC

5. The four buttons along the bottom provide tactile feedback through a vibration, plus audible feedback through a “click” sound :)

I am sure someone will find a way to disable this to save a lill bit of battery life

UPDATE:
6. The camera has selective autofocus! So you can tap you finger on a certain part of the screen, and the camera will focus on that area.

7. The screen sensitivity seems to be greater compared to that of the Touch Diamond and Touch Pro
