WMExperts have posted some layout diagrams for the HTC Whitestone aka HTC Touch Diamond2. While the Touch Pro2 is more focues to business users. This Touch Diamond 2 is a Multimedia focused device. Other than the common features available on most devices some good additional things that one can notice on the Diamond 2 are :

1. unique “kickstand”
2. dedicated “multimedia” button
3. 3.6-inch screen
4. 5MP camera
5. 3.5mm jack
6. Zoom bar

HTC seems have become serious about providing Hotfixes to some of its newly introduced devices like Touch Diamond 2. There have been certain bugs which have been quite annoying, like :  removing the start recording function during a voice call for HTC Touch Diamond2.

For many of those freshers its not always to possible to get any third party support for any problem they face of such new devices, thus support from the OEM(original equipment manufacturer) would be a great help.

According to Engadget.com Touch Pro2 a.k.a Fortress is expected to launch with WinMo 6.1 AKU6 (presumably upgradeable to 6.5 down the road) with full HSPA on three bands, AGPS, a 3.2 megapixel AF cam, 3.6-inch WVGA display, and Video Share support. Meanwhile, the Warhawk — AT&T’s Touch Diamond2 — gets a 3.2-inch WVGA display, dual-band HSDPA, AGPS, and Video Share, but unlike the Fortress, it’s scheduled to launch with Windows Mobile 6.5 installed out of the gate. It’s targeted for August 24.

HTC Diamond 2 WVGA applications ported to VGA HTC Touch Diamond. Some of these apps have extra features thats absent from the default app present with HTC Diamond. These cabs are hosted @ EverythingDiamond.info. They have the app in OEM versions ( required only if you are cooking your own ROM ) and the normal CAB installation file.

HTC Touch Diamond2 at £399 ( AUD 896.94 or USD 567.49 ) according to eXpansys and you will be able to get it on 17th April. This is one of the few devices that comes as WM 6.5 ready, but remember when the devices comes out it will be running on WM 6.1.

The stolen Windows Phone is believed to be HTC Touch Diamond 2 and was given by Microsoft to Telstra’s CEO Sol Trujillo to try and test the new Windows Mobile OS. Sol handed it to an unnamed executive who was then pick-pocketed, if you were hoping to see some screenshots of the prototype WM6.5 and any custom changes Telstra has made , its not going to happen.

APC Magazine has confirmed from its sources close to Microsoft that the entire operating system and all the user data on the handset were remotely erased from the phone as soon as the theft was reported. It is not sure whether this theft was aimed at Telstra’s private data or getting hands on with the new beta version of Windows Mobile 6.5 and the new HTC Windows Phone. It also looks like remote cleanup of the OS did save the day and it might be a default feature built in to WM6.5 and that would be a welcome feature from both the corporate and personal point of view.
