For me the speech to text ( in Mango ) works great and I often find myself using it. TransparenTxt is a new windows phone app that lets you see where you are going while you are busy texting your mates. Personally I will never need this but I love the idea behind the app, mind you it’s not a new concept there are apps on the iPhone and Android that does this and now we windows phone users can walk n text too .. yay :) and I have witnessed people walking in to lamp-posts and what not ( not just on youtube, in real life too ) and this app could be a godsend to them. If you SMS a lot while walking, then TransparenTXT provides a see-through messaging window and keyboard on top of the live vidoe from your camera. Again this might just be a Mango App ( I have tested it on Mango Omnia 7 and it works )
TransparentSMS is a cool new app for Windows Mobile that mics the features of RoadSMS application for Android, with this app you can walk along the street texting away to your hearts content while keeping an eye out for open manhole covers or lamppost. So if you are a heavy sms user and love to text while on the move ( while walking , for Christ’s sake don’t text while driving ) then get this free app. Features include Send SMS with a live view from the phone’s camera background with a basic QWERTY keyboard and a Shortcut to choose the message recipient.
In this video you will see the SMS interface for Windows Phone 7, notification when you receive a message on WP7 and the Live tile on home screen. The MMS function does not let the user send out an MMS ( in this build of WP7 ) but the interface which will allow the user to add an image via the messaging app is working, given that this is not the final product , this does not imply the final product will miss this feature. You can also see the SMS Live Tile Emoticons. Unfortunately the video does not include the emoticons in the messaging app ( still hoping to see Emoji on there someday ).
Some of the features include Smooth and Simple metro look. The live tile on the Start screen will act as a counter for your text messages ( unfortunately like one of our reader suggested why such a big tile with no preview of the actual message ) . Conversation view that shows you who is saying what through right/left justification but there is no difference in color, possibly coz the app changes color based on your theme choice ( but dark and light color for sender and receiver is a nice feature that can be added ) . Notifications for SMS work quite well. You’ll get a little preview at the top of your screen when a new SMS comes in. Ignoring it is the only way to make it go away or you can tap on the notification to be taken to the text messaging application.
Efficasoft Mobile Express is a pocket pc software that helps you Manage Text Message & Contacts from desktop PC with ease. Its designed interface and friendly operation will deliver you the best smooth experience.
TellMeText intercepts incoming SMS (text) messages to your Windows Mobile device and reads them out to you before they go to your inbox. This can be really useful in situations where you have your phone but can’t or don’t want to physically touch it to read incoming messages. (For example, if you’re driving a car or eating your lunch). TellMeText can run in the background so it doesn’t interfere with your normal use of the device. PC Phone Edition 2003SE or later Any Windows Mobile 6 Standard or Professional. Best of all its a freeware.
The TextToSpeech functionality is provided by software from the Fliteproject. TellMeText requires privileged access to your device in order to intercept the SMS messages. For this reason, we strongly recommend that you download and install BlondieSoft’s Windows Mobile Certificates first. ( might not need to do this on custom cooked ROMS)
Install Instructions
• Install MobileCertificates.cab file first
• Now install TellMeText_Signed.cab to either main memory or MMC
• Soft-reset your device
• Execute the program and choose minimize from the menu to make it run in the background
