It would appear Telstra will be starting to sell White Nokia Lumia 800 from 20 March in Australia. If you dont care about the color you can pick up the device in black starting from Tuesday 13th March. The Lumia 800 is the 2nd gen 2 device from Telstra , the first being
Samsung Omnia W. While it’s no high spec device and has its own share of
battery issue ( not sure if the recent updates have fixed these issues ) the Lumia 800 has been selling quite well in foreign markets , our own Gary is a proud owner of one.
We are not sure if the Cyan; Magenta will be available at this time , we have reached out to Telstra and will update the post with any info we get. Pricing info via telstra below
The Nokia Lumia 800 will be available from metropolitan Telstra Stores from Tuesday 13 March, with regional Stores and partners receiving stock progressively after this date.

Min cost over 24 months is $1,416.

There have been several countries that have been left behind when it comes to second generation Windows Phones. Canada is now confirmed to get 2nd generation support from Microsoft, by receiving the HTC Radar, Nokia 710 and 800. That left Australia as one of the larger countries still remaining without any 2nd gen. devices. With device marketshare dropping as well as a slip in mobile browser marketshare, Australia will be getting the shot in the arm they so desperately need to positively reflect the currently small and slow international growth trend of WP. Fortunately for WP and Australia, the arrival of the 2nd generation devices has marked an immediate increase in both statistical markers across Europe. With an Australian market hungry to be unpdated to 2nd gen. devices, WP should see an improvement in sales with 2 new models on the way. Read on past the break to find out which models, where, and when…

Windows Phone 7
Ain’t this nice if
geekzone.co.nz has got this right we Aussies and Kiwis will be some of the first to get a hand on a retail Windows Phone 7 device (
not the developers device going around ). Now this is just a rumor at this stage and Microsoft has neither confirmed or denied this so don’t get too excited just yet. But if this is true then I will see you folks from Melbourne who will be in line to get a WP7 device on launch. I am thinking Telstra will be an exclusive carrier, we have no info on the handsets that will be available at this stage but if the
LG Optimus 7 is available it might most likely be the one I get (
based on what we have seen so far, might change my decision after some hands on time with the other devices )

HTC HD7-concept
According to
smarthouse.com.au
Taiwanese phone Company HTC who virtually dumped the manufacture of Windows Mobile phones in favour of Google Android based models is set to launch a new HD3 Windows Phone 7 in London on the 15th of September at a two hour function being held at the Hyatt Hotel.
One have to guess where they get their info from when they make claims like ..” HTC who virtually dumped the manufacture of Windows Mobile ” but we did know that HTC was planning an event for Sep 15th and with the rumored release date of October for WP7 ( in Europe ), it looks quite possible that HTC will unveils its HTC HD3 ( which could be called the HTC HD7 ( see why )
