In January struggling T-Mobile US, 4th largest carrier in the US announced that they would be the first major carrier in the US to be releasing update 8107.79 to its customers starting February 15th. Many carriers outside the US already have released the “disappearing keyboard” 8107 Update, including T-Mobile UK, Orange UK, O2 UK, Vodafone Germany, Vodafone Australia, Bell Rogers Canada, and Telus. There are a few other carriers and many unlocked devices already that have received the update worldwide. T-Mobile US Windows Phone owners have begun to chime in on many forums throughout the internet indicating that they indeed have received the 8107 Update. Nokia have released the Lumia 710 in the U.K., with the handset going free on contracts of £20.50 per month on a 24 month agreement with Vodafone, see links below for Nokia Lumia 710 on each carrier in the U.K.
Vodafone are the cheapest carrier by far for the Lumia 710, however you only get 100 cross network minutes included in the tariff which works out at around 3 minutes a day.
Nokia and T-Mobile have released this video advertizing the Lumia 710, following its release on the 11th January in USA.
The short tv advert does not show any specifications of the handset, except the 5MP camera is clearly visible on the rear of the phone, I also noticed the price, $49.99 usd is quite cheap for a pay-as-you-go handset that should appeal to all.
We talked on how the T-Mobile Nokia 710 accessories got leaked by sources almost confirming the device release and here it is confirming it. The Nokia Lumia 710 will be releasing on the T-Mo networks this Wednesday. T-Mobile will be offering the Lumia 710 in both black and white colors, along with the interchangeable back covers. So keep your fingers crossed as we may soon get the 4G Nokia WP devices like the Nokia 900.
The T-Mobile Nokia Lumia 710 hasn’t officially been launched in the US with 6 more days to go for the December 14 Nokia T-Mobile event, but we are already seeing leaked images from trusted sources via folks at the Verge, showing us accessories the company plans on launching with the phone and of course in big and bold, it says Nokia Lumia 710 Accessories. So here marks the unofficial launch of the Nokia Lumia 710, Lumia 710 fans can start their celebrations. Thank us later :D !
T-Mobile has started sending out invitations for its December 14 event, co-hosted by Nokia. Well exciting news there and hopes of the Nokia Lumia series finally making its way in the US. T-Mobile in the past had Nokia Symbian devices such as the Nokia Xpress Music phones and will be the first carrier in the US to sport a Windows Phone Nokia device. We most definitely hope that the event marks for Windows Phones and not some other symbian devices, possibly the Nokia Asha series.
Update: T-Mobile Nokia Lumia 710 has been confirmed by the FCC Manuals
