I was disappointed to see that there was no built in stopwatch and Countdown Timer on Windows Phone 7, its a vary basic feature to have in any smartphone but its not there on WP7. But there are various 3rd party solution that offers this features one such app is ccTimer. Press release below

An easy to use Stopwatch and Countdown Timer. The Stopwatch supports Time Splits and the Countdown Timer can display a total breakdown of the remaining time in Months, Weeks, Days, Hours, Minutes and Seconds or a total of each.

TouchWatch2, created by lopez1_de, is a finger friendly stopwatch for Windows Mobile. To use, just use your fingertips to start or stop a timer; or press the d-pad action button. If you want to reset a timer, hold down your finger for 500ms (or press d-pad action for 500ms). To modify the settings of a timer, tap on the left side icon and the settings will open (or press d-pad left). You will need .NET CF 3.5 to use this stopwatch.

G-Watch is a stop watch which supports GPS devices( it will work fine on devices without GPS as well, but not to the full potential ). It keeps track of your distance, speed and altitude. It will be a very handy tool for all those trekking and hiking trips.
