I was disappointed to see that there was no built in stopwatch and Countdown Timer on Windows Phone 7, its a vary basic feature to have in any smartphone but its not there on WP7. But there are various 3rd party solution that offers this features one such app is ccTimer. Press release below

If you want to reset a timer, hold down your finger for 500ms (or press d-pad action for 500ms). To modify the settings of a timer, tap on the left side icon and the settings will open (or press d-pad left). You will need .NET CF 3.5 to use this stopwatch.

MyStopwatch
MyStopwatch is a finger friendly pocket pc freeware Stopwatch and Countdown timer. The interface of the program is very clean and the program is very simple to use, it has been developed to be fully Finger-Friendly. Despite its simplicity, the program also offers advanced features, such as the ability to fully customize the interface, multilingual support and automatic saving of lap time.
For the moment the MyStopwatch supports resolutions WVGA and VGA (provided it is installed the correct version of the skin) and works on all versions of Windows Mobile 2003, 5, 6 and 6.1.
