Sprint&WP
Today we are learning about a very unlikely carrier to be interested in testing out a Windows Phone 8 with Qualcomm’s MSM8960 Snapdragon S4 1.5GHz Dual-Core Processor. Sprint, US’ 3rd largest mobile carrier with over 55 million customers appears to be ahead of other carriers with interest in testing out the Windows Phone new hardware. We all have known of the dual-core processor and its remarkable benchmarks. What makes the situation unique is that Sprint is a CDMA network and currently only carries the HTC Arrive, a 1st generation device. Along with Verizon, Sprint has been outspoken of recent in there lack of support for Windows Phones. In fact both companies customer’s have started petitions to plea with their carrier to work closer with Microsoft and Windows Phone. Maybe Sprint heard.

HTC 7 Pro
The guys from Phonescoop has managed to snap a few pictures of the upcoming CDMA Windows Phone 7 device from Sprint. Its the HTC 7 Pro, a WP7 device with a slide out full QWERTY landscape keyboard and the ability to tilt the screen at an angle similar to the HTC Touch Pro 2. The phone was not the final hardware and did have a few issues like
The slide mechanism was somewhat stiff, …The keyboard was fine. …and I wish the Sprint WP7 phone had keys that were more bouncy and responsive…The OS still does a poor job reorienting itself for landscape mode, so when you open the keyboard, you’re usually just looking at a sideways screen…

Sprint HTC Touch Pro2
Two North American carriers will be launching their Touch Pro 2 with Windows Mobile 6.1, not 6.5.
WMExperts claims Sprint and Verizon Wireless will be releasing their devices with WM6.1, but will be upgradeable soon after with WM6.5. At least they will both feature the 3.5mm earphone jack, right?
The Verizon Rhodium’s GPS will be fully unlocked, unlike their previous high end WM devices. Another thing noted is US Cellular will be launching with WM6.5. That should make them the first carrier to launch a Touch Pro 2 with the latest mobile OS. AT&T might have something to say about that, but only the future will tell the full story.
