Unlike all the previous versions of SPB Mobile Shell available exclusively for Windows Mobile smartphones with touchscreens, version 5.0 is to be released for Android, Windows Mobile and Symbian. SPB Mobile Shell 5.0 – Key Features:

• The first complete 3D mobile phone interface, offering an extremely fast and natural user experience. User interactions become much more intuitive in a real 3D environment.
• Single place to access all smartphone features: combining traditional widget based homescreen and application launcher via stunning 3D homescreen.
• Fast switching between screens with a single gesture.
• Supports almost any mobile operating system by means of a platform adaption layer. It currently offers support for Android, Symbian and Windows Mobile and is porting for more.
• The first mobile UI where widgets have been implemented correctly, enabling users to convert any icon to a widget in just one click.

The app planned to be released to OEMs and carriers, SPB have not announced a consumer purchasable version of the app yet. SPB will be hosting a SPB Mobile Shell 5.0 Roadshow to launch the product, which starts today in San Francisco and will include cities such as London, Tokyo, Taipei, Moscow, Sao Paulo, Cape Town, Berlin, amongst others. [TUT] How to make up a panel to an spb screen on the Home Hub?
1. Goto Menu, Add Widget, Shortcut, Spb Menus and select from the list.
2. click on the widget that has been added to the screen and then ‘Change Skin’ to your desired panel image. Example: Add a shortcut link to ‘Favorites’ and then change its skin to ‘Hub People (WP7)’.

[TUT] How to make up some of the custom panels.
Agenda Panel: Add an Agenda Shortcut (or whatever program you want it linked to) with the Hub Agenda Skin, then add the Agenda widget and change its skin to ‘Agenda Hub (WP7)’.

Digital Clock Panel: Add a Spb Clock Shortcut (or whatever program you want it linked to), change its skin to ‘Big Box Hidden (WP7)’ and move it where you want it on the screen. Now add a Digital Clock Widget, change its skin to ‘WP7 Hub’ and place it over the Blank panel. Lastly add a Current Date Widget, change its skin to ‘WP7 Hub’ and place it over the Blank panel.

[TIP] The Background image wont change on the Home Hub..
Change the wallpaper as normal, then go into the program files, spb mobile shell folder and delete the background.dat file. Soft reset and the wallpaper will be changed. This will change the wallpaper on the Home Hub, the Games Hub and the Lifestyle Hub. Unfortunately you cannot set separate images for each hub.

SPB software has been by far one of the best Windows Mobile software developers, they have recently shown interest in the iPhone market as well with the release of SPB Wallet for the iPhone ( only US I guess coz I cant get it from the Aussie Store ), but they have not forgotten about us Windows Mobile Windows Phone ( .. um this is going to take a while to get used to ) users. You can install the real Omnia Interface on your Pocket PC, but if you cant get the Omnia Interface to install properly on your device , there is one other alternative thanks to greatbal from xda-dev. You will need to have SPB shell for this Theme to work.

How to install:
1) Download zip file attached.
2) Extract on your hard drive.
3) the .tsk file should be put in to /Windows or / My Document folder for the device as any normal theme file. then select that theme from Start > settings > today
4) Copy all extracted .dat files from Omnia SPB Mobile Shell 2.1.2 Theme to your device’s \Program Files\Spb Mobile Shell directory.
5) Soft reset device.
