At first glance you could be fooled into thinking it is a Windows Phone, but once you look more closely you can see that the pictures are indeed fake, I’ll tell you why I think they are fake…

Checkout Our SponsorsSony Ericsson (soon to be Sony due to a corporate buy out) have secretly been working on a Windows Phone, this rumour has been going around for a while now, Today the guys over at NokiaWP have released two (slightly blurry) photos of the rumoured upcoming device. The photos do show a couple of points to note, there will no doubt be a slide down keyboard (seen above the wording ‘Prototype Not For Sale’) and its likely NOT to have a front facing camera as it cannot be seen in the pictures. Furthermore it appears to have what looks like Gorilla Glass (could even be Gorilla Glass 2!)

Well well well… When Steven Walker of Sony said that they were keeping a “Watching Brief” on WP7, was THIS on his mind?

Sony Ericsson plans to launch a new eco-friendly GreenHeart range WM6.5 device code named the Faith. Looks like someone wants to get in the good books of Microsoft after the buzz about Windows Mobile 7. There is no release date on this front facing qwerty keyboard mode from SE. ( not that their release date matters, they are almost always delayed ).

XPERIA X1 runs Windows Mobile 6.1 .. *sob*sob*

Few days ago I reported that the XPERIA X1 is rumored to come with WM 6.5 and that’s why Sony Ericsson isn’t allowed to demo their new smartphone more. Well, I wasn’t totally right with the version number. Like you can see from the image above (via mobilvilag) the XPERIA X1 indeed has a new and unreleased version of Windows Mobile. This new version is named 6.1 and it is expected to include some major interface changes. Granted, 6.1 still hasn’t been announced to the world, but it’s a well documented rev that should do a decent job of holding us all over until 7 finally happens.
