Fake Sony
At first glance you could be fooled into thinking it is a Windows Phone, but once you look more closely you can see that the pictures are indeed fake, I’ll tell you why I think they are fake…
There are no hardware buttons (Back, Windows & Home)
The Messaging icon is incorrect (the smiley is on its side in the speech bubble)
The camera button is incorrect (there is a lump on the top of the camera in wp7)
There is no hardware buttons for the camera (unless its well hidden)
The hardware shows ‘Xperia’ on the bottom
Prototypes from Sony tend to have the text printed on the handset, Not on a sticker!

Sony's prototype Windows Phone
Sony Ericsson (soon to be Sony due to a corporate buy out) have secretly been working on a Windows Phone, this rumour has been going around for a while now, Today the guys over at NokiaWP have released two (slightly blurry) photos of the rumoured upcoming device. The photos do show a couple of points to note, there will no doubt be a slide down keyboard (seen above the wording ‘Prototype Not For Sale’) and its likely NOT to have a front facing camera as it cannot be seen in the pictures. Furthermore it appears to have what looks like Gorilla Glass (could even be Gorilla Glass 2!)

The Sony handset sporting the WP7 platform that surfaced this week seems to just be an “Old Prototype that was cancelled last year” according to Mobile Review’s Eldar Murtazin.
False Alarm
Looks like Sony is going to stick by its earlier stand on the WP7 platform. What remains to be seen is whether they will be forced to re-think their decision.

Sorry Sony I am a big fan but seriously is that what you call a mobile device ??? The Wall Street Journal ( via
PocketNow via
BGR ) is reporting that Sony is working on a Playstation Phone built by Sony Ericsson ( who else would make it ? ) to compete with Windows Phone 7 Series and xBox Live Games. The WSJ is saying that phone would be be able to play Playstation games. I am guessing PS1 and 2 games. We got emulators for that on windows phone.
