Rummble comes to Windows Mobile, kudos to wmpoweruser for the find Rummble is all about finding and sharing stuff you’ll like, as quickly as possible. One of the big differences between Rummble & other services which give you ratings, is that Rummbles recommendations are personalized to you. You might see 8/10, someone else will see 3/10. Rummble does this using some clever technology called “trust networks”. It works out who you trust for different types of content. The more you Rummble (rate things you like or dislike) the more trust networks you get access to, increasing what you can discover – and the more you can help your friends, too!
Features in version one of Rummble for Windows Phone include:
Discover personalised recommendations nearby, quickly and easily
Check-in to any venue and notify your group of friends instantly
Show the buzz from specific venues in real-time from the twittersphere
Find out where your friends are and what they are doing
Connect Rummble to Twitter, Facebook, Bebo and Linked-In
Fast and accurate location lookups with Skyhook Wireless
Foursquare is a location-Aware Social Networking service available for some of the major cities in the US and Amsterdam. Foursquare draws from a list of known restaurants, bars, and nightclubs and other famous spots around you and you can check in to any of those location earning you some points. I dont think the iPhone app was a huge success but there are some loyal followers for this service eg: Anand Iyer who does not own an iPhone and find it inconvenient to use Mobile IE to access the site, and now he plans to release a native Windows Mobile app to use this service.
