Most of you guys would know Swype ( get it here ), if you were wondering whether Swype is really faster than other mode of texting ? the folks from samsung have set a new Guinness Record for the Fastest Text Message on a Touchscreen Mobile Phone by using Swype on a Samsung II. The record was set by Franklin Page a Swype employee. He managed to set the record in 35.54 seconds.

Texting speed records were previously a combined title for T9, physical QWERTY, or touchscreen. That wasn’t exactly fair, so Guinness has begun to separate things out into proper categories. Page’s was the first record attempt for this category; in theory, he could have taken 20 minutes to type the message and still claimed the record.

Anyhoo I dont this this record will last too long. May be they should send this guy to do a vs with the swype employee .

Usage Instructions :
Make a shortcut to VJSipSwitchII, and specify command line parameters which match the name of the SIP you want to switch to.
Launch the shortcut and your phone will switch to that SIP.

This is useful if you want to, for example, always use SPB Keyboard as your default SIP.

eg:
“\Program Files\Vijay555\VJSipSwitchII\VJSipSwitchII.exe” spb keyboard
will switch to SPB Keyboard.

Bonus Feature:
If you launch VJSipSwitch II without a command line parameter it will now pop up a menu asking you which SIP to switch to.

I have always been frustated with default windows keyboard, due to its tiny size. It is hardly possible to use your finger to input data. But now with this new onscreen keyboard writing on my phone is just a breeze. PocketCM keyboard has lots of intelligent features like a visible feedback of the key currently pressed, you can imagine that your finger is on the keyboard… and now you can easily see what key is pressed. Second important thing is you can move your finger, the key will change, release it, the key will be triggered (so it’s the opposite of a physical keyboard: the actual action is when you release the key, not when you push it).

Feaures:

It can be used with fingers

It suggest word based on letter position

It trigger the key when your remove your finger from the screen, not when you press it.

It can be customized

It’s a standard Windows Mobile SIP, so to use it you have to select it as the input method, therefore it can be used in (almost) any application.

Customizable layout: as you can see the layout is “azerty” for the screenshot, by default PocketCM Keyboard comes with a QWERTY layout. Creating your own is just a question of editing a text file.

Accent recognition and suggestion: the keyboard know accentued letter… so for instance, the french word for summer is “été”, if I type ‘e’, ‘t’, ‘e’, the keyboard will suggest “été”. No need to go to a sub/hidden keyboard doing some accentued letters.

Once you get used to it, you can grab it with two hand and type with the thumb… goes pretty well.

vibrate on press

No matter what you choose, the keyboard SIP is always selected after a soft reset. Dosent this get to you after a while. Enter SIPChange , now you don’t have to select your favorite SIP each time you reboot.

SIPChange has two execution modes. If executed with no parameter, it
presents the list of SIPs available on your device and allows you to
select a default. Once set, this information is stored in the registry.
If executed with “SET” as the parameter it minimizes itself, reads the
default from the registry and waits 10 seconds. When the timeout
expires, it sets the Current SIP to your selected default and closes.

How to use:

1. Copy the attached CAB to your device

2. Tap on the cab using file manager to install.

Now open SIPChange by tapping Start->Programs->SIPChange. You
will be presented with a list of your available SIP. Highlight the one
you want to become the default SIP. If you wish, you can change the
default delay as well. Now tap the “Select” button. The SIP will be
changed to your selection and SIPChange will close.

That’s it! The next time you (or your automatic nightly backup) resets
your device, the default SIP will be reset to your choice (best of all no need to tinker with the Registry).
