Samsung and Microsoft still have a good relationship – at least when it comes to Windows. For Windows Phone, this partnership seems not be as good as it should.

Samsung is still waiting for Windows Phone 8, which is said to be launched alongside Windows 8. Both OS will share the same kernel, which offers really new possibilities to user and developer. (more…)

Samsung told us all at the Mobile World Congress this year that they are waiting for Windows Phone Apollo to launch new devices.

Their Samsung Omnia W (sold as Samsung Focus Flash in the US) sold not very well in Europe. Some carriers even crossed it from their launch list without selling it. (more…)

Nokia-USA

It doesn’t matter what country or region you’re from. Whether you own or follow Windows Phone you know Microsoft has an uphill battle to gain a legitimate mobile market share. While AT&T and WP seem to be a good fit here in the US, the US is going to be Microsoft’s toughest customer to win over and it’s not entirely Microsoft’s fault. While many countries are positively responding to an influx of new WP devices with WP slowly gaining in global market share, there is a good chance US will be the last country to reflect any WP growth and the last 3 months prove it.

Today HTC went on record letting down many hopeful people. Despite showing off their new One series, HTC announced they will hold off on producing any new WP models until Apollo is released. They did confirm there will be an HTC Titan II outside of the US for countries that have an LTE network, which is great news to see both the Nokia 900 and Titan II going international. Although no specifics were given, HTC did mention Australia will be one of the lucky countries to be getting the massive device.

MWC

The 2012 Mobile World Congress is almost here, another trade-show at hand and oh do I love them. The MWC is the world’s largest exhibition for the mobile industry and starts this coming Monday. It’s amazing during these times how rumors can grow wings and fly almost on their own with so many eager consumers clutching to any news leaked and waiting so impatiently to get their hands on the latest unreleased gadgets. I would be lying if I said I was any different. I thought it would be fun to take a look back over the past month and consolidate the rumored and the verified WP devices into one article. When the MWC is over we can all look back over this and see how close or far off we all were. Read on to look at the different WP devices we hope to see.

DFT presents Samsung Rainbow custom rom

Dark Forces Team presents the first custom rom for first generation Samsung handsets, which are Omnia 7 and Focus handsets revision 1.3 and 1.4.

Note: Omnia W and Focus S are clasified as second generation.
