Is this the beginning of the end for Microsoft Points?
The currency that Microsoft uses for its Xbox Live and Zune purchases were exclusively using Microsoft Points as the points were sold at the same cost all over the world. This changed when Games On Demand was launched, to Microsoft Points for game add-ons, themes, avatar items, etc and cash only for On Demand game purchases, Then came Windows Phone and Microsoft changed their approach by charging customers to real monetry values paid via credit cards and soon after by carrier billing for their Windows MarketPlace downloads.

instagram
Instagram is a free photo sharing application that allows users to take photos, apply various effects and easily share it on the service or a variety of other social network like Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare, Tumblr, Flickr , and Posterous. If you are on a Sammy ( read Samsung ) device
Photogram does something similar but Instagram has seen phenomenal success on the iPhone ( with over 15 million users and was also recently named as iPhone app of the year by Apple ). It would be good to get that app on Windows Phone , especially since these days most complains about windows phone is the lack of high profile apps and what is even better is that there are rumors going around which hints at a release for Windows Phone before Android !!

Sony's prototype Windows Phone
Sony Ericsson (soon to be Sony due to a corporate buy out) have secretly been working on a Windows Phone, this rumour has been going around for a while now, Today the guys over at NokiaWP have released two (slightly blurry) photos of the rumoured upcoming device. The photos do show a couple of points to note, there will no doubt be a slide down keyboard (seen above the wording ‘Prototype Not For Sale’) and its likely NOT to have a front facing camera as it cannot be seen in the pictures. Furthermore it appears to have what looks like Gorilla Glass (could even be Gorilla Glass 2!)

Nokia-Lumia-900-ATT
Microsoft’s partners recently sent out a Christmas card this year, with what looks like Nokia device with a Front Facing Camera and 4G support. Rumors are claiming this to be the Nokia Lumia 900 which is expected to be released on AT&T next year and could come with a pre Tango built of Windows Phone. The device looks very much like a Lumia 800 but with a front facing camera and the 4G support. Nokia is yet to confirm what are the exact specs powering this device , we would love to see some more processor power , memory and and an upgraded battery to start with :) Should I even ask if you folks want one ?

WindowsPhoneRoadmap
WMPowerUser have posted what they claim to be a leaked roadmap of Windows Phone product cycle ? As we can see it says that Mango sets out to bring
new features , languages and countries and according to this roadmap it should have launched in Q4 2011 and we know that to be true. This document claims that Tango to be launched in Q1 2012 with ” Products with best prices ” ? now there were
earlier rumors that claimed that Tango will introduce cheaper hardware targeting developing countries so perhaps this refers to that low end devices to break in to developing market. We expect to see the official Tango announcement at CES.

WhatsApp-WindowsPhone
WhatsApp is to Apps what Angry Birds was to Games. Some people even consider it as an indicator to a successful platform. To the uninitiated WhatsApp is a cross-platform smartphone messenger that lets you message ( unlimited images, video and audio media messages ) your friends for free using data. In a recent tweet @WhatsApp said
Did you know that mangoes account for approximately half of all tropical fruits produced worldwide?
Now this might just be coz the person behind the tweet might be a fan of the fruit but we think it a tease to let Windows Phone users know that their awesome app is heading to the platform. While you wait for it give KIK Messenger a go
Thanks to Michel for the tip ( via the 1800PocketPC app , if I recall correctly its the first one via the app :) )
Update : Looks like there is more confirmation of WhatsApp coming to Windows Phone.
