YouRang is an amazing little app that turns any audio from your favorite YouTube video in to a ringtone on your Windows Phone. The app is super easy to use : when you launch it you are given the option to search for a video, then you load it in tot he app. Pick the start and end point for your ringtone , you can preview it and then click on the create button and the app does its magic and give you a ringtone that you can save to your phone and set as your ringtone all from the comforts of the app. Check it out in action below

You get a call and your phone says ” Houston, we have a problem ” if you fancy seeing this stick around for the full review. NASA Ringtones is a simple ringtone app that gives you a bunch of sound files from NASA’s historical archives developed by Help Software. The app offers multiple categories ranging from Beep & Bytes to Shuttle & Station and in each category you get multiple sound effects that you can save to your device or apply as your ringtone. Personally its not my cup of tea but if you are a space buff perhaps this might be something that interests you. The app is currently at version 1.6 which is feature limited but the devs have informed us version 2.0 should hit the market soon which will give you the full featured trial with ads.

MortRing

After installation (ZIP file contains both PC setup and CAB for PPC installation) an icon showing a small cell phone will appear in the tray (lower right corner of the Today screen). If you tap it, a menu will open, which contains entries to open the configuration dialogs. The “SMS filter” allows you to search the sender or message text for given words, and play a special sound and/or even run a program if the search text is contained. The “play internally” options usually only make sense if you disable the system sound, and only WAV files are supported currently. The sense of this feature is compatibility with tools like phoneAlarm, which only supports one single SMS signal and ignores the one MortRing sets, or devices which ignore the registry modifications of MortRing. Sadly, the ringtone modification doesn’t work on every device. Esp. if there are lots of contacts and you’re using a pre-WM5 device, there’s a quite high risk of not working.

VipPimRingTone is a free Windows Mobile Professional application which allows users to assign custom ringtones to different Contacts and Categories. Allowing the selection of a custom ringtone folder – VipPimRingTone supports mp3, wma and wav file formats – this application will enable users to specify custom ringtones to be used for certain Contacts or Contact Categories. The concept is pretty simple and very useful letting users know the person who is calling without the need of taking a look at the device. This version of VipPimRingTone supports the option of ringtone loading through XML files for more advanced users, but for the everyday user all settings can be set via the icon in the Programs folder.

The good folks over @ xda-dev has done it again, the Omnia Today Screen can be put on to any touchscreen device running Windows Mobile.

Install Instructions:

1. Install AdobeFlashLite 2.1
2. Install Samsung Omnia SMPlayer/Touch Player
3. Install Opera 9
4. Install Samsung Omnia Today Plugins
5. Put your pictures into \\My Documents\\My Pictures folder on your device (not storage card)
6. For Kaiser/Other device with screen height 320 Install SJ GrandP_320.cab and Install SJ DCINOBAR.cab to remove the taskbar.

Tone Manager v0.2 – Sets ringtones based on categories, with the option to choose which category takes priority in the event of a contact belonging to more than one category.

Instructions :

1. Choose a category and a ringtone.
2. Click ‘Add to list’ to add it to the priority list.
3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 until you’ve chosen all your desired categories and ringtones.
4. Use the Up and Down arrow buttons to order your list into priority; categories at the top take precedence over categories below them.
5. Click ‘Set Now’ to make the changes.
