WP7 Root Tools is a new WP7 HomeBrew Apps by xda-dev member Heathcliff74 which is in alpha stage at the moment. The app only works on unlocked Samsung WP7 devices and only has a registry editor in this version , but there are some placeholder in the app for file explorer, certificate storage and registry hacks.
Some of the WP7 Registry Editor does not play nicely with Samsung but this seems to work well. I dont think I need to emphasize that you need to be careful while playing around with the registry keys. I am looking fwd the future versions of the app coz the file explorer and registry hacks sounds like some great features to have :)
Registry Editor were dime a dozen on Windows Mobile but they are hard to come by on Windows Phone 7 but WP7 HomeBrew App developer Julien Schapman was not happy about this and have release a client that allow users to create/edit/delete registry keys and values on their windows phone 7 device. You will need a developer-unlocked device or a unlocked device via ChevronWP7. As always head over to xda-dev for some good Registry hacks. You can download the XAP from here.
If anyone has an unlocked device and decide to try this , plz do send us a screenshot. Thanks :) ( via Twitter or email : admin@1800pocketpc.com ) Thanks @Jaxbot , image via windowsphone7central.com
Note : HTC, Samsung and LG device should have read/write access, Dell have read only access using WP7 Registry Editor
