FM & Web Radio App

Last week I start a new way to build a concepts. I want you – readers to participate actively in the concepts that do. As Microsoft says – Put people first. Feel free to give ideas for the new concept, that will do next week.

The next week’s concepts will be for a FM & Web Radio App. Do you listen radio, or just your own music? How different can be another Radio Application? Currently most of the Windows Phone devices has a radio tuner, but the stock radio players are poor. In the Marketplace has a lot of Web Radio Apps, but the most are ugly and inconvenient. So how about an app with a nice interface – simple, but nice-looking and great functionality. So, tell me what do expect from a FM & Web Radio Application?

Absolute Radio is one of UK’s Independent National Radio stations based in London and plays popular rock music, they also reach out to a global audience via satellite, cable, and on the Internet. This is an official app released by TIML Radio Limited and developed by One Golden Square labs. You can enjoy live streaming radio from Absolute Radio, Absolute Classic Rock, Absolute 80s, Absolute Radio 90s and live premiership football coverage on Absolute Radio Extra on your Windows Phone. The app has embraced the Metro UI and each station has its own page and you can easily switch between stations by swiping you fingers across the screen.

1.fm Radio is a popular service for streaming radio. You can use commercial software to stream the music, but there’s no free solution. Popdog54 has created a html file with 1.fm shortcuts for easy access. The cab file installs the .html file along with a shortcut. Clicking the shortcut should open your default browser. Selecting your station of choice should open the music stream in your default media player.

Here is something for our Polish readers. The MiastoMuzyki application lets you listen to radio stations from internet platform www.miastomuzyki.pl on your Windows Mobile device, and also displays text and CD covers about what we are playing. The RMF Group launched an internet platform Miasto Muzyki in 2007, currently offering its listeners the packet of more than 50 formatted music stations.

The content has been distributed via internet (WMA), through digital platform ‘n’ and iTunes.
The service in brief:
