Bert the developer behind ( Twozaic Twitter client and Media Control ) have relesed some info about his upcoming WP7 app called Presenter. Presenter converts your phone into a remote control for PowerPoint presentations. Presenter can show high-quality readable thumbnails of your presentation, supporting the primary laptop screen as well as the secondary beamer screen. The on-screen timer keeps track of your timing. I would assume that this would require a server app on the PC and both the PC and the WP7 device will have to be on the same WiFi network for this to work.

More info virtual-remote.com , they also have a Windows Mobile app that does the same thing.

Clarity Consulting is no stranger to WP7 Apps , with app concepts like ( Clarity Comics, Microsoft Hohm ) they are looking to be a huge player in Windows Phone 7 development.

Clarity Consulting have released a new app Powermote which will act as a remote control for PowerPoint 2010 ( we are not sure if older version will be supported , we are thinking it wont ). Once the app on Windows Phone 7 device syncs with the PowerPoint 2010, the user can use a swipe gesture or the buttons to change slides . It also includes a timer and displays the notes for the slide. It looks quite nice and I am sure enterprise users will love the idea. I can already see people whipping out their WP7 to control the slides in boardroom meetings :)

If you are wodering how all this works, here is a quote from Clarity Consulting

The app consists of a PowerPoint add-in that hosts a WCF service. The add-in creates a ribbon menu item to connect to the phone. Clicking “Connect to Phone” sends a push notification to the phone via the Microsoft Push Notification Service. The phone then sends a request to the WCF service hosted in PowerPoint to request data about the presentation along with URIs for the slides images that the add-in saves out as thumbnails. It’s definitely easier to build office add-ins with VS2010 and Office 2010.
