We have talked about the 7.10.8107 Update which fixes the annoying disappearing keyboard issue, the update created some issue between Microsoft and its Windows Phone users. Thankfully my carrier ( Optus in Australia ) has just pushed out the update. Have you guys got the update yet ? Let us know the carrier and country if you have got it already. There is an unofficial way around it for the brave.

HTC Titan and Radar heading to Optus Australia

by Saijo George on October 28, 2011

in New Handset,News

It looks like the HTC Titan ( Hardware Review ) and the HTC Radar are listed on Optus’s GPRS Internet Configuration page , it seems some of the other Windows Phone devices that are available in Australia like the HTC Mozart is missing from the page so there is good chance the Radar and Titan are going to be announced on Optus soon. I don’t suppose Optus will confirm or deny this but it looks very likely that the devices are heading to Optus.

See it for yourself ( http://optusau.wdsglobal.com/internet ). It’s not like they are going to remove it from there but just in case here is a screenshot.

Update : It looks like the ZTE Windows Phone is also making an appearance in there.

OPTUS, a leading Australian Mobile Service Provider has launched a new applications store for its mobile customers via its Optus Zoo portal, which caters to non-iPhone devices.About 1000 applications are currently available, split between four smartphone platforms: Android, BlackBerry, Symbian and Windows Mobile devices. The store also has Java-based applications and games that run on multiple platform. Mark Mulder, general manager of Optus content and portals, says the main difference with the Optus Mobile Application Store is that it supports all kinds of 2G and 3G-enabled smartphones. Mulder explains that Optus detects a user’s type of handset automatically and the store shows all the applications that can work on that phone.

Details on revenue share has not been made public. One feature of the store is that you can charge the app purchase to your mobile bill. In the next few weeks, Optus will be launching a web version of the store but for now, users have to click on the App Store icon in Optus Zoo through their mobile phone, or SMS “app” to 966.
