Fireworks are used all around the world to celebrate a variety of holidays and events and they usually present opportunities for some really beautiful sights and now you can do the same on your Windows Phone 7. Fireworks is a FREE novelty app by Mike Newman, for some odd reason the app is available in the games section and gets installed to the games hub. Fireworks creates some amazing visual effects on your WP7 device by just touching the screen. Fireworks offers quite a bit of customization options to the user. In the settings page you can toggle sound and tactile feedback and if you get in to the customize show page you get to customize the fireworks to your liking. Lets take a look at what are the options available.

Here is something for developers, Adel Al Zubeir have recently released a SDK which promises to bring MultiTouch ( detects up to 2 touches ) to Resistive screen. I am no developer and have no idea how this works but if you are a developer and want to add multitouch gestures to your windows mobile apps then this might be worth a look. This SDK allows developers to build Dual-Touch enabled applications.

Features:
* Pinch to Zoom Support
* Drag (swipe) support.
* Replacement events for the mouse move fires only when a single finger detected.
* Multiple events based on gestures.
* Performance optimized, memory footprint is minimal.

To use this SDK you will need Visual Studio Professional or better. start a new Smart Device Project, and add the SDK to your references.

The SDK is consists of only one object, which is DualTouchSDK. We will need one instance of this class for every control that supports pinch to zoom or drag in your application.

A title like ” Quasi-officially confirmed by Microsoft: Windows Mobile 7 gets multi-touch, 6.5 is for cheapskates ” would grab the attention of any Windows Mobile user. One of our favorite WM news site MSMobiles is reporting that multi-touch is coming to Windows Mobile 7. Its not fully confirmed yet but it does look like if Microsoft does not take Windows Mobile seriously the other new players Android, iPhone will run away and win the smartphone race.

According to electronista.com ” multi-touch will be a core feature of Windows Mobile 7 and that many of the experiences of competing phones will be “knocked in the different realm” of Microsoft’s new platform. ” thats exciting news. They also claim that WM7 and WM6.5 will coexist. While WM6.5 will focus on the low end market, WM7 will be aimed @ the high end market.

What do you think Is Multi Touch as important as they say ? The only multi touch I use on the iPhone is the pinch zoom gesture..
