Well what is modu ? According to its developers modu is a tiny, sleek & sophisticated mobile phone. To me its more like a glorified SIM. From what I could see from the video its like device with all your personal info like contacts and all that, you then get the plugin device ( called jackets ) and plug-in your modu and all your personal info is on that new jacket. These jackets can be anything from mp3 player, phones, GPS unit and even the kitchen sink.

You can switch modu jackets as often as you like according to your changing lifestyle and personal expression needs – transforming modu from a stylish phone or business tool to a workout companion or a powerful entertainment system. It’s as easy as slipping modu in and out. All modu jackets are universally interchangeable, allowing you to swap modu jackets with friends. modu mates let the revolution of a connected world to enter your everyday life. modu strives to become the standard communications and personalization enabler to any consumer electronics device. You can slip modu into your digital camera to enable instant sharing of photos with your modu contact list, into a DECT phone to enable land-mobile call consolidation, or into a digital picture frame to view pictures stored on your modu. All this sounds nice but why should anyone want to get multiple gadgets when they get a mp3 player, GPS unit, gaming device and a phone in one device. The only way I see this succeeding is if the so called Jackets are reasonably dead cheap. Any ways this is some thing new and would love to try it before I write this off as a failure or a success.
