We have often seen apps use the mic and accelerometer for apps but there are very few that use the light sensor. So why dont we have an app that measure the light intensity using the light sensor on windows phone ? Apparently that is eactly what this developer was thinking and he created an app that does just that. Amigalux is an app meant for WVGA devices that has a light sensor. The app should automatically detects the screen orientation of the device and adjust accordingly.

AutoCallLocker is a pocket pc software for automatic locking and unlocking while in a call. The app utilizes the light sensor and accelerometer to work and was designed for the Samsung Omnia so it might not work on other devices.

Developers Instructions :

Just install the added .cab file.
Then start the application. Now it should start with a settings screen (as you see in the capture).

Now, you can select which sensor you’d like to use for detecting when to lock/unlock.
Note that locking/unlocking is only influenced while in a call.
For the accelerator you may select a value between 0 (horizontal) and 90 degrees (vertical).
Above the device will lock the screen (when you have your omnia pressed to your head), below it will unlock.
When using the light sensor, you can set a value between 0 (no light) and 100 (max intensity of light).
Again the screen will lock below the threshold (if it is dark), above it will unlock.

Another nice goodie, is the always unlock feature. When set, the device will always be be unlocked in a call.
This is nice when you have placed the device for example in a cradle.

The last feature is an obvious one: Load on system start.
Note with this one set, the application is send to the background immediately after startup, although noticable for a short moment.
Note also that when this option is set, and you close and restart AutoCallLocker, it will also go to the background.
If you restart again, AutoCallLocker will stay maximized, so you can change its settings.

AutoLight was developed for HTC Topaz (Diamond 2) with WM6.1 and it critically depends on HTCSensorSDK.dll, HTCUtil.dll and on a 10 levels backlight starting from value 1. It has been reported to work with WM6.5 and on Rhodium (Touch Pro 2) and it might works on some other HTC phone and it will most likely not work on non-HTC phones. AutoLight is a native application with a very low memory usage. On the other hand the Configurator requires Compact Framework 2 but it should be closed after the use. The Configurator is designed for WVGA screens.

Install

Run AutoLight.cab and install in main memory (not in storage card), run AutoLight.Config.cab and install where you like, then softreset (this should also disable the native auto adjust backlight function, check for that in the Control Panel Power applet).
If you have previously installed autolight V2.x and want only upgrade to V2.3 without having your configuration reset to default use the Configurator to stop AutoLight. After that overwrite AutoLight.exe, ChangeLight.exe and AutoLightConfig.exe with the files you find inside AutoLight.zip and softreset.

TouchLockPro is a multipurpose locking application and is designed not to interfere with running applications. Other locking solutions are often specific for locking only incoming calls/SMS. A lot of locking solutions also place a (transparant looking) Window on top of the running application (e.g. slide 2 unlock), so the information of the background application is no longer visible. This is not the case for TouchLockPro, so it can be kept lean and mean. Also, it uses few resources.

Windows mobile has got a lot of screen lock applications , but this particular shareware application called PocketShield offers a unique way of locking and unlocking the screen. PocketShield uses the light sensor to determine if the phone is inside something(without light reaching it). So if it’s receiving light it is probably because you have it in your hand, or you have it over your desk, or someplace where there would be no reason to have it locked. Other locking options include

Hand gesture, moving it in a particular way.

Slide your finger over the screen from the top towards down.

Stylus out.

Press D-pad round button.

Application permissions

You can combine any of the 5 unlocking mechanisms, as they are designed to work together. Choose the configuration that suits you better!

What’s new?
- Notifications customization.
- Notification booster while in standby (will remind you your desired alerts and notifications so you never forget them).
- Slide-to-snooze for Notifications booster.
- Option to lock(or power off) with stylus in.
- Auto display hidden WM notifications after unlocking (no more need to click over the tiny taskbar bell).
- WM6.5 fully supported.
- WM Alarm supported in Applications Permissions (PS unlock upon WM alarm)
- Lite mode: can disable completely phone and/or notification options to just leave lock/unlock features.

If you constantly find that you accidentally click on the screen while the device is in the pocket then you will love this Pocket PC Software. PocketShield is an intelligent locking/unlocking application. Prevents accidental touch on the phone screen specially when it is turned on not precisely by you. For example: when receiving calls, email notifications, SMS, alarms, etc. As you may have experienced, PocketPCs “wake up” whenever any of these events occur, they will also wake up when batteries are low, and randomly when phone signal changes antenna depending on your location. But the problem is: what if the phone is inside your pocket in that moment? or inside its case or pouch? Touch screens will take any touch over it as a user input, and arbitrary “touching” could cause many undesired results.

PocketShield uses the light sensor to determine if the phone is inside something(without light reaching it). So if it’s receiving light it is probably because you have it in your hand, or you have it over your desk, or someplace where there would be no reason to have it locked. Other locking options include
