Windows Phone became just a little bit classier today, with the release of the Monocle app. For those unfamiliar, Monocle is a magazine, website and radio station situated on worldwide reports on small businesses, resorts, fashion and culture. The 24/7 web radio station is a delight to listen to, and now you can get it whenever you like on your Windows Phone. The app is as feature-rich as you might hope, with the ability to make playlists of programs and download them for offline listening. The station plays a mixture of talk radio (downloadable) and pop music from around the world (unfortunately not).

The app has embraced the Metro UI and each station has its own page and you can easily switch between stations by swiping you fingers across the screen.

xda-developers member hlov have released a beta version of a Shoutcast app for Windows Mobile. SHOUTcast Radio is a free-of-charge audio homesteading solution. It permits anyone on the internet to broadcast audio from their PC to listeners across the Internet. Plz note this app used the internet on your device to stream the radio channels.

Usage:

1. The Categories screen is shown, choose one category from the list and wait until the list is populated (this process just run once).
2. Choose the radio to play; the radio will start to play and then it will try to display the album art in a thumbnail at the bottom of the screen.
Optional

Tap on the album art thumbnail to get a bigger view of it and also have access to the Add to favourites options an to exit to the app.
Add to favourites:
In the larger album art screen tap in the add icon (plus symbol), the station will be add to the favourites list.
Shortcuts:

Tap on the top label to back to the categories screen at any time
Tap on the status (the bottom label) to exit the application

Slacker Radio from TMobile HD2 now available for download

This Radio app was taken from the TMobile HD2 ROM by TMartin from PPCGeeks. It should work well on WVGA devices , might work on VGA too. You can signup for a free account with a 6 song limit per hour. Slacker is an interactive Internet radio service, available in the US and Canada ( so we are not sure if users from other region can use this app )

Power Radio 2.3.0.0 is a custom pocket pc software FM player with RDS decoding for Windows Mobile. RDS stands for Radio Data System, FM radio station sends digital data during broadcasting. RDS is a EU standard so it is popular in EU. PowerRadio delivers many data available via RDS which would otherwise be invisible to the listener. Here are just a few examples:

Radiotext: contains information broadcast by the respective station. What you get here totally depens on the broadcaster. You might see title and interpret, call-in numbers, SMS trafficservice numbers, URL’s etc.
traffic announcements, program type, coverage area, date, time, timezone, various status flags

ChangeLog :
- Power Radio got gesture support! Please note that this is only supported on Windows Mobile 6.5 or greater
The following gestures are available:
- swipe right/left to switch to next/previous preset bank
- pan a preset to another (free) location. It wont let you overwrite existing presets.
