Features:-
Display current speed, average speed, distance travelled, top speed and compass heading.
View your speed and distance in kilometres, miles or nautical miles and with digital or analogue display.
Track your journey with Bing Maps: view journeys live on a map and save them to view later.
Use heads up display mode to invert the display and view via a reflection (e.g. your car window).

On windows Phone with Local scout ( where available ) there is no need to have a 3rd party app for finding POI near you. but what if you live in an area where Bing’s coverage is not so great and want to check up the POI’s offered on Google Maps ? Luckily there is a way using a 3rd party app called YAPF. yapf is a POI ( places of interest ) finder which brings the power of Augmented Reality ( AR ) and Google Maps to your Windows Phone.

Samsung silently launches High Fidelity Position App

It seems Samsung has been busy these days we saw the Samsung Print App a couple of days ago and now there seems to be another app in there called High Fidelity Position. The app aims to offer better GPS positioning by the aid of the on-board sensors ( accelerometer and compass if you device has em ) and also makes use of GLONASS ( Russia’s alternative to GPS ). I am not sure how power hungry these new settings are , will try it for a few days and update the article if I notice anything significant

Get Turn by Turn Navigation right now on Windows Phone

We all know that Turn by Turn Navigation is a core feature in Mango ( at least for selected counties ) but till mango comes out later this year there is an alternate solution. The developer of Outdoor Navigation , GPS Tuner LLC has released a new app that uses Bing maps to provide Turn by Turn Navigation on Windows Phone . I am not sure which all regions it would work in , the best way to figure that out would be to get the trial version which should be good for 12 miles/20 km. This should come as no surprise to most people but if you were wondering the app will use data and will need an active internet connection on the deice for it to work. Press release and video below
