Care for an Atari emulator on Windows Phone 7 ?

We saw a gameboy emulator for Windows Phone and now it looks like an Atari emulator is in the works. According to WMPU the developer of this emulator Alex Thissen , is the regional director at Microsoft Netherlands and the emulator is called Atari Lynx emulator. Even though the emulator manages to run at 25 fps in the Windows Phone 7 emulator it only manages to get 2 fps on a real device. If you think you can make it better head over to codeplex where the source code is available for this emulator. It also has a Windows version can run at 60 fps.

Play Pokemon, Zelda on Windows Phone using Wario’s Jewels [ video ]

We got the chance to speak to Josh and Samuel the guys behind Wario’s Jewels 7 and they informed us the NoDo version is going up today !!! If you want to get it as soon as it goes up I would suggest keeping en eye on their twitter account.

The devs have informed us : The build that is shown in the emulator is not the final build. The final build is much better and the UI is redone.

1. Tell us a bit about Wario’s Jewels 7 and how it works ?

Wario’s Jewels 7 (WJ7) is an emulator of the classical gameboy. It isn’t a GameBoy color emulator (not yet). It has been written in C# for Silverlight from a blank paper. WJ7 isn’t the best GB emulator ever but it works pretty well :)

2. Tell us a bit about the team behind Wario’s Jewels 7

The Team behind Wario’s Jewels 7 consists of a group of dedicated people who are passionate about 3rd party homebrew for Windows Phone and have worked tirelessly to get Wario’s Jewels where it is today. Samuel Blanchard is the developer of WJ7. Josh Bogolub is in charge of the communication of the product. Other members of the WJ7 team are testers.

Wario’s jewels : WP7 Game Boy Pocket Emulator coming soon

WP7 Game Boy Pocket Emulator

Remember the Game Boy Pocket Emulator for WP7 that we covered a while back ? The developer has been updating the app and posted a small update on hoe the app is coming about. Due to the nature of the app, its most likely not going to show up on the WP7 Marketplace. I dont think a beta or XAP is available just yet.. more on it as it unfolds :)

Some new things added to the app are

a save state which allows to quit the application without losing your progress.
BUG FIX : corrected the ration problem but the screen isn’t fullscreen anymore.

Game Boy Pocket Emulator coming soon : WP7 HomeBrew App

We have seen a NES emulator on WP7 and now Homebrew developer Samuel Blanchard has released a video of the Game Boy Pocket Emulator running on his LG Optimus 7 and mentions that the emulator is not ready for release yet and still needs work on the management of the Flash RAM and the backup status in the game. Anyone taking bets on if this will be allowed in to the marketplace ? More info : naviso.fr

Tuska NES Emulator Windows Phone 7

We have seen an Online Silverlight SNES Emulator and hoped one day it would come over to Windows Phone 7, but our dreams were shattered when Microsoft said they will not approved such content on the marketplace and did not approve the open source NES Emulator by Matt Bettcher for the Windows Phone 7, most likely coz of the legal issues using ROMs for the various games.

But now Tuska from xda-developers has got a solution for unlocked WP7 devices. Tuska NES Emulator is a homebrew NES Emulator for Windows Phone 7. The developer has said that the features for the app include sounds on/off, pause/play, save and load, it only supports portrait mode for now and all nintendo games should be supported.

Silverlight SNES Emulator – so who wants it on WP7 ?

If your answer is NO, there is something wrong with you mate ;). I love games and this is huge news for Windows Phone 7 Games.. Emulator are always a huge thing on mobile phone check out some of the Emulator for Windows Mobile. Now according to CreamFilling512 from channel9.msdn.com he has successfully ported his SuperSharp SNES Emulator to Silverlight. Now we all have heard the stories of how easy it is for developers to port their Silverlight apps and games to windows phone, I hope this is no exception.

Windows Mobile is our bread and butter, but you have to admit that Android has its perks. With this Emulator, you can probe Android and see what it has to offer. Some functions will not work correctly for obvious reasons (GPS and Phone), but you can still use widgets and browse the web using its mobile browser. xda2_haseeb has packaged the emulator for easy installation.

Instructions:

1.Extract the *.rar file
2.Rename Extracted Folder to “Android-Emulator”
3.Download and Copy Fixed EXE files into it
4.Run

PocketZax – play Z-Machine games on Windows Mobile

PocketZax is an interpreter for a large number of Interactive Fiction (“adventure game”) titles. It is able to play Z-Machine games, which include all of Infocom‘s classic games, and also an enormous number of games that have been created more recently using Graham Nelson’s excellent Inform application.

PocketZax should provide you with hours of entertainment — make sure you take a look at the Interactive Fiction Archive Games section for hundreds of games to play on PocketZax.

PocketZax should support all V1 to V5, V7 and V8 games, including the original Infocom titles (though I’ve not tested it on a huge range of different titles so please let me know if you encounter any problems).

The Z-Machine engine used by PocketZax (ZaxCS) is based entirely upon the “Zax” interpreter written by Matt Kimmel , ZaxCS is a port of Matt’s original version into C#.
