Currency converter for Windows Phone 7 is an app that allows the user to converts currencies between various international denominations including the US Dollar, Euro, Japanese Yen, Pound Sterling, Australian Dollar and other world currencies. We are not sure what the source of the data is. The app will give you an option to add your favorite currencies so you have easy access to that info. Using the panorama controls you can also browse the entire rates along with a small flag that represent the country. The options wallows you to change various factors like your home currency the frequency of updates and what not. A simple currency calculator is also provided within the app. Currently the app has no search option but the developer is working on adding that feature to the wp7 app. The app is being developed by stephansen.org

CurrencyConv is an pocket pc freeware application for you to check out the currency rates and convert one currency to another. It supports all major currecy like USD, Euro, etc

Installation Notes

Download the CAB file and transfer it to your device. Do not open the CAB file as if it is a ZIP file.
On your device, launch your file explorer and locate the CAB file.
Tap on the CAB file to start installation.

Usage Notes

Simply choose the three currencies you wish to view from the dropdown lists.
Type in the amount to convert for any of the three currencies.
To get the latest currency rates, go to Menu=>Update.

Other Notes

If currency update module does not work, please download the currency file here, save as “currency.xml” and place it in the same folder as the program.
If the file downloaded by the update module is outdated, you can also use the link above to trigger the update. You can refer to this blog entry for more information on why this is so.

XChange R8 2.0 – currency converter for windows mobile

Xchange R8 is a simple currency convertor. You can choose 3 currencies to be displayed and for the time being you have two WebServices available: Bank of Romania and Bank of England. Bank of England currency are accessed via the Export Technologies WebService. The author is willing to add other WebServices to the list if you can provide him with their address.

You need of course an Internet connection.For Bank of Romania you can choose to see the currencies as they were at a certain date. Before you ask, chosing a date in the future will alas not work. The Export Technologies service does not have this function though, and when working with the Bank of England this choice will be unavailable.The program remembers the last downloaded values for each service. Please note that the Export Technologies service (for Bank of England) is slow – an update can take up to a minute. Bank of Hungary does not update the service daily. Therefore, after you press Download, you may see a different date than today appearing at the top: this is the date of the last update. Furthermore, because of this, when you use the calendar to choose a date, you may get the message “No data available for the chosen date!”. Simply choose another date. Hint: they don’t update during weekends.
