Nokia Applies For Interesting Alert Patent

Have you ever missed a call even with your device’s volume turned up to 30 and your vibrate on? You’re not the only one and Nokia thinks they have a solution to this problem, based on a recent patent submission. Nokia’s concept revolves around a skin spray with “ferromagnetic” material, a tattoo, or a stamp attached to your body that would offer vibrating notifications directly to your skin from a paired device. Each vibration sequence or type could signal low battery, phone call, text message, and/or calendar alerts.

Tango Update Screenshots Leaked

Today, Russian website wp7forum.ru leaked images that shed more light on the Tango Update for Windows Phone. The info backed up some of changes we all were already aware of from previous leaks and added some new info to the rumor mill. They show some improvements to the OS in whole and some new limitations as well. We know about Tango Updating via Zune and the added support to many countries. We know about some media control changes, the possibility of folders,and lower specs required. Today we learned more about the lower specs.

I reside in the US in beautiful Northern California. I am 38 years of age and gaining stride in life. I’m a loving husband, proud father of 4, and I’m sarcastic. Vodafone Red Box: No need for Jedi training [Video]

Vodafone have started running this TV Advert in the UK, I have yet to see it on TV, but as many of you may (or may not) know, I hardly watch TV, I tend to watch archived tv shows and use my 360 as my media center.

The short advert is a funny take on needing to spend hours swapping contact details from one handset to another, and with Vodafone Red Box, you have your contact details swapped for you in-store.

BizSaver : an easy way to add business contacts on windows phone

BizSaver is a new mango app that allows you to quickly add business contacts on to your windows phone. Imagine this you use local scout to look up some business and want to add that to your contact list , traditionally you gotta manually enter this info in there thanks to copy paste you can copy some item and paste it in but its still a tedious task.

Contacts Factbook Is an app that I was asked by a twitter user, @betimdrenica to write a review on, to which I am more than happy to do (*hint devs!)

This app is a fact calculator that hunts through your contacts and displays your contact statistics in one of three panels, for example: ‘You have 887 contacts in your phone, 1 of them is pinned to the start screen’ is what is displayed on the ‘Overview’ panel, whereas the ‘name’ panel and the ‘misc’ panel are more of a statistical analysis of your contact list, giving multitudes of percentages and in depth information relating to your phones ‘people hub’ contact list, (more…)

Dont want to scroll through the entire contact list ? Ever wish the handy dialer from Windows Mobile was included in the people hub ? Well this app comes close , it will not add it to the peoples hub but will add an app that allows users to use a dialer like interface for making those quick calls.

7dialer allows you to quickly call any of your contacts. No need to go to the contact hub nor flick neither scroll to find a contact, simply launch this app and use its SIP keyboard to search the contact you want to dial to, tap on it and ready to talk. You can also send an SMS or email in a couple of taps.

The app also allows you to define a favorites list for even faster access.

You won’t need to enter each contact manually because 7dialer is able to import/sync your Windows Live contacts.

Forward Contacts : an easy way to fwd contacts on WP7

Well as well all know there is no way to easily fwd your contacts using your Windows Phone 7, but if at least the NoDo update went live in Jan as it was meant to, we could have at least copy pasted the details in to an SMS but alas NoDo is still not released ( at least not officially ). But at least there is an app that allows us to send specific details like phone number and email via sms or email in an easy way and that app is Forward Contacts.
