SurfCube Browser Windows Phone

SurfCube Browser Windows Phone

Mind you tabbed browsing is only one of the feature in this feature packed browser. Surf Cube in essence is IE9 Mobile but with some added features that gives users a much richer user experience on their mobile phone. The app has been updated to Mango and I have had the pleasure of trying out the beta before it went public. There are a lot of features to write about and we might not be able to cover each and every one of them but some of the stand out ones are as mentioned below :

So IE9 is going to be apart of Mango, it would appear I was under the wrong impression and some of you guys got it right. According to techradar IE9 for Windows Phone is code complete and is now undergoing performance tuning.

We have see that Hardware accelerated browsing ( video, audio, text, etc) is a huge plus for IE9 and Microsoft happily showed this off by putting tit to the test against other browsers, like how they did on the desktop version, ( refresh your memory ;) ) and it would appear the performance has been improved from the last time we saw it.

Initially when we saw hardware acceleration in IE9 mobile , it was getting 23 frames per second in Microsoft’s ‘speed reading’ demo (compared to 11fps on Android and 2 on iPhone)… Microsoft now claims to have achieved 27fps.!!!

Not happy with IE on Windows Phone 7 ? There is a new browser in town called 7 Tab Browser which offers quick tab browsing on windows phone 7. What makes 7 Tab Browser unique is how it enables you to quickly navigate from tab to tab in a very quick, 1-click (or 1-swipe) motion. It also features Dual Mode, which places one browser directly above another browser window, allowing you to track two sites at the same time. Useful for tracking sports games, stocks, or other real-time events.

SurfCube the the 3rd party browser which has a cube interface is soon going to be updated to version 2.0 and has added some requested features like tabs and also features a new navigation joystick. From the video you will notice that the little joystick can be moved around freely and can even be re-sized. The tabs offers a lot of control as well : you can place them as quick tabs on top of the browser , much like the desktop browsers or have then on the side as the part of the cube so you have access to more real-estate. check the video for more info

Bored of your phone browser? Well heres something fun to try even if you aren’t ;). The SurfCube browser thats hit the WP7 market is a 3D interface unlike anything you have seen before. It uses cool graphics to emulate a 3D visual style with a cube effect (Sort of makes the name quite unimaginative!!). The interface features a central webpage viewer that shows up the content. The URL bar and favorites list form the top portion of the screen. The bottom tab view still isnt out of development yet. The history and settings form the left and right of the screen.
