Nokia Luna BH-220 Bluetooth Headset and Holder

I received a Nokia Luna BH-220 bluetooth headset from the fine people at mobilefun.co.uk, to write an in-depth review on and I have been using it on my two Windows Phones, the Samsung Omnia 7 and the Nokia Lumia 800, for a little over two weeks now and I must say it has surpassed all of my expectations by a considerable margin.

I decided not to write an article based on facts, figures or its sleek good looks, instead I decided to write an article about how easy the headset is to live with, after all that’s what’s important to us all at the end of the day.

An hour after I had opened the box, the headset was fully charged using the enclosed AC-16X superfast 1 amp charger and bundled CA-169 thick usb lead, (the same charger that you will find inside the Lumia 800 box.)

Nokia Luna BH-220 Bluetooth Headset

There is a convenient led on the top of the holder that shows the charging status of the headset, that changes from red when its charging, to green, indicating that the headset is fully charged and ready to go. (more…)

The Nokia Luna BH-220 bluetooth headset is the newest addition to the Finnish companies product line up.

The sleek ergonomically designed headset is packed full of features, with a very respectable 60 days standby time stowed in the holder, 35 hours standby time out of the holder and 8 hours talk time, I find it remarkable for its size and speed of charge. Using the enclosed AC-16X charger and CA-179 USB lead, the headset is fully charged from completely dead in a speedy 2 hours.

AutoActiveSync, created by dmkpoznan, is an innovative tool to connect your computer and mobile device via Bluetooth. Many people choose to use a micro-USB cable to connect to their computer, but this app connects wirelessly by using Bluetooth to find the familiar ActiveSync (Windows XP) and Device Manager (Windows Vista) programs on your computer. Now, you can leave your computer, come back to it and it’ll re-sync itself. No more having to manually connect to your data manager programs, which is perfect for power users.

Note: By default, it will launch and hide itself in the background after each soft reset. If you don’t want this app running all the time, just delete the shortcut under the windows/startup directory. Then you can activate or deactivate via the shortcut in your programs folder. Also, be sure to follow the full instructions on the developer’s page.

When you are in a phone call the Phone application by default shows on the screen. If you want to transfer the phone call to bluetooth headset, and bluetooth is turned off, you have to enter the Comm manager to enable bluetooth before you can enable the Headset from the Phone application’s context menu.

This little context menu addin lets you toggle the bluetooth stack directly from the context menu inside the phone application. This will save you some clicking while you try to transfer the call to your headset

In order to set A2DP, you would have to do it manually – can be a little annoying if you’re a frequent user. Xiaojin1985, a developer among the XDA community, has found a way to enable your device to toggle to A2DP mode automatically. An advantage this app has over similar ones is that it doesn’t constantly run in the background. Try it out for hands free simplicity.

Features:
-WM5/WM6 Supported.
-No TSR(terminate-and-stay-resident),no Background running process
-Developed in C,fast execute speed and small file size(3KB)

Installation:
1.Copy AutoA2DP.exe to \Windows folder(Recommend)
2.Run it,or run install.lnk instead,it will install in silent,NO MSG SHOW,after that you will find [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\Notifications\AutoA2DP_b y_xiaojin1985] entry in Registry. *NO CONFIGURATION NEEDED*
