As per engadget.com Toshiba is shutting down its DVD manufacturing facilities in Aomori Prefecture, Japan, while official word is expected “soon”. so the format war comes to an end and I am happy with the result coz I own a PS3 and don’t have to worry about HD-DVD becoming the default format
