SpoonCharge is a small windows mobile software which displays the current battery information in large text. The developer ( DotNetCoder from xda-developers ) wrote this app coz he wanted to see from a distance what the charge level was, and how fast the battery was charging.

The current version assumes:
<100ma = Trickle charge (battery almost charged)
<200ma = Slow charge (50% or greater charged)
<500ma = Medium charge (full speed USB charge)
>500ma = Fast charge (dedicated AC adapter)

The color of the text also changes depending on levels, and temperature. This has only been tested on a Diamond2, but should work on most Windows Mobile 5+ phones.

You’ve seen these before, the little green line at the top of the screen that indicates the current battery level. This app is really nothing new or revolutionary. The main difference of BattLineSvc is that it’s a true Windows Mobile service, so it does NOT use one of the precious few 32 slots available for processes. This app has been tested on Windows Mobile 5, 6, 6.1, and 6.5, but NOT 6.5.3.( if you do plz let us know ) There’s no configuration app yet, so you have to edit the registry if you don’t like the default settings.

Current features
- Shows a nice bar along the top of your screen to indicate battery status.
- Color changes based on ‘warning’ and ‘critical’ battery levels (configurable).
- Immediately correctly resizes when the screen orientiation changes.
- The battery level is updated at 20 second intervals and also when the device is awakes from sleep.
- Can show a bar at the bottom of the battery bar (if you want it).
- Can be offset from the left, if you have a fancy Windows Logo icon.
- Height of the bar can be changed.
- VERY low resources used — runs as a TRUE service and uses as close as 0% CPU as is possible by an app like this. So it’s good for even older snail devices. :-D
- AppToDate support!

WMLongLife, created by Chainfire, is an automatic 2G/3G band-switching solution. It will keep your device in 2G when you do not need to use 3G, and will switch to 3G automatically when you do need it. For most users, having your device in 2G uses much less battery, and thus your phone lasts longer on a single charge. 2G also usually generates less radiation than 3G. This utility is still in beta, so you may encounter some issues. Refer to developer’s thread for any problems or questions.

Main features:

    * 2G/3G (auto)/3G (only) automatic band switching based on:
– Running programs and their needs
– Availability of Wi-Fi
– Availability of USB
– Roaming
* Idle data connections disconnect based on running programs (note that unlike the registry tweak this does not break simultaneous voice/data)
* Manual band switching
* Automatically disable data when roaming (including AGPS)
* Pauses applications while switching bands (so you don’t get networking errors)
* Several predefined applications supported
* Support for HTC/MSM72xx GSM devices (GSM/EDGE vs UMTS/HSDPA)
* Support for HTC/MSM75xx CDMA devices (1xRTT vs EV-DO)
* Support for various Samsung GSM devices (GSM/EDGE vs UMTS/HSDPA)

Mobadi is a little application to discharge and monitor your internal battery. It will support only different HTC Devices and the Sony Ericsson X1i (Xperia), but Versions for non-HTC Devices are comming up soon. The downloadable Version will run on VGA and non-VGA Devices. On older devices like the Trinity, the Bettery-Percentage are 5% or 10%-Steps. So the Diagram are not so detailed like on the Touch-Versions.

Caution:
At the Update from 1.9.518 to 1.9.519 you must uninstall the older Version first. Because of an wrong Name in the old Version, it will not update automatically. For the next Updates you dont have to do this.

Ensure a strong HSDPA signal is selected

Make a half-hour phone call

Download a 50MB email attachment

Turn push email off (where possible)

The phone is left in standby
