XDA member, 6ITdtvFQqY, has developed a small app that allows you to send your GPS location via SMS. Your whereabouts can be sent out automatically, which could come in handy as a safety precaution during hiking expeditions or other risky adventures. The developer has recently added a power save mode, which is always nice for power hungry GPS apps. To run the program, unzip the downloaded file where you want on your mobile device, and run the executable file.

Warning: Keeping the GPS active drains the battery quickly. Therefore, the power save mode is active by default.
