One of the latest ads to surface for the WP7 platform gives a very good impression of the possibilities with your WP7 phone. The ads are increasingly concentrating on trumpeting the Phones capabilities as opposed to trashing other players. Also we seem to be moving towards carrier branded ads. Good job Microsoft!
AdDuplex used to allow wp7 app developers to show off ads for their apps via the other developers app and now they have started accepting advertisers to join the network so they can buy impressions on the various WP7 apps that run AdDuplex ads in the app / game. So now AdDuplex join other ad network like AdMob and Microsoft’s own Ad Network ( which is limited to Us publishers ) Its nice to see many advertising options are becoming available for WP7 developers.
With the free wp7 games being the preferred choice with users many developers have gone with the free model for their games and were doing quite well with ads from Microsoft pubCenter. Its only available for publishes in the US and many devs who happen to be from the US were making a decent secondary income from it. One developer mechaghost a.k.a Elbert Perez who has 9 free games even plans to quit his day job to be a full time WP7 developer.
But recently a few devs have noticed that the eCPM’s have been going down. In an forum thread about the issue a Microsoft Employee was quick to respond saying they were on it. ( If any of you have used Google Adsense , you would know how difficult it it to get a reply from Google regarding any issue , I haven’t used Google AdMob and cant comment on it but I would not keep my hopes high. In Google defense it a much larger network that the Microsoft’s offering )
Most people who use a WP7 love it, there are issues with the OS no one is disputing that and the frequency of updates are nothing to brag about either NoShow / NoGo update is still not out for public use , however for the adventurous there is a leaked ROM floating around on xda-dev that has the NoDo update, So hopefully its going to come out soon and hope there are no nasty surprise for Samsung users this time around.
We have seen many users have released some great ads for WP7 devices ( one , two ) and Microsoft has responded with some pretty nifty ads of their own ( one, two ). Now we have a new fan made ad that shows more of a personal touch Windows Phone 7 can bring to users.
We have seen a a couple of great fan made ads ( one and two ) and Microsoft started to show promise with a few great ads of their own and now here is a new one. What do you guys think ? I am loving it .. and I ain’t talking about McDonalds ;)
We have seen some great stuff from Fans in the form of WP7 video ads and Microsoft has stepped up its game and have released a rather impressive ad for WP7. And now here is another fan made beauty called We Love WP7.
Hint : Microsoft please get in touch with this dude ( Brandon Foy ) to create a few more of these.
Here is a Windows Phone 7 ad that promotes Windows Phone 7 by highlighting all the great features of the OS. It informs users of office, xbox live , the huge collection of apps, people hub, etc and the ad looks quite good. Its nice to see some great ads coming out from Microsoft for Windows Phone 7
There has been no shortage of ads for Windows Phone 7, not all of them are great but this new ad that showed up is actually quite nice and what is even more it takes a shot at the other smartphones. In this example we see the pocket to picture feature shown off against an imaginary smartphone. But if they choose to run that with a real smartphone ( read iPhone, Android ) that would tun a lot of heads and they will come out with similar ads that attack WP7, now that would be fun to watch.
