The guys from WMExperts have noticed a nasty little date dug with WM devices. Text messages come dated six years from now ( 2016 ). This is what they have uncovered

  • Messages received after 1/1/2010 may be dated as 2016
  • Effects WM6.1, WM6.5 and even non-Windows Mobile phones
  • It is ROM independent, meaning switching won’t help
  • Some carriers seem to be experiencing this bug, but T-Mobile seems fine

Download this .cab and give a thanks to Ziggy471 & Scientific for working on this issue!

I'm on Sprint with a HTC TP2 and I have the bug too. Might not have noticed it if I didn't just check right now. Fortunately, the calendar doesn't seem to be affected.

Either way, what an embarrassment for the WM camp, especially if this turns out to be only fixable by a ROM update.
