Mobile Print

We have seen some of the other Samsung apps like Diodict, Photogram in the past and now Samsung has released a new exclusive app for Windows Phone called “Mobile Print”. Press release below

“Mobile Print is a free application which enables print photos and SNS contents directly from your smartphone. The application also enables scanning documents to your mobile device directly.”

  • Automatic print searching on a local wireless network
  • Compatible with Samsung wireless and network printers only
  • Print photos, Facebook and Twitter
  • Scan document directly to your mobile device
  • Print on on supported printers shared on Windows and Mac

via wpcentral, it seems that the app will only support Samsung printers. So if you own a Samsung Printer and have a Samsung WP7 device , hit the link below to download the app ( might not be available in all regions )

I have a hard time figuring out what Samsung wants with WP. On one hand they seem to have not much faith in it and on the other hand they develop apps like these.

At the moment I think Samsung will regard WP7 the same way they did Windows Mobile: just offer a few handsets and leave it at that. Most signals seem to indicate their main effort will be with Android and Bada, with WP7 just out of some sort of obligation.

I hope they will at least offer as much WP7 handsets as Bada ones.

True , they might be looking to push Bada , after all its their own OS. There are rumours Sammy is looking to acquire the MeeGo Platform

I tried it in the UK but it won’t download. It didn’t even appear in the Samsung Zone (I have an Omnia7). I had to find it using the “more from SAMSUNG ELECTRONICS…” link at the bottom of the Photogram app. Hopefully they will sort this out. Is there an official Samsung WP7 website we can complain at?

As a side note the new Mango marketplace did tell me it wasn’t available for my device which is a nice bit of communication on Microsoft’s side.

I think marketplace had some issue in the UK and US, could be a side-effect of that . Unfortunately I dont know of an official Samsung WP7 website. We did see the http://www.1800pocketpc.com/marketplace-will-tell-you-if-an-app-is-not-available-for-your-device/21849/ which is a nice touch my MS
