Sales for Windows Smartphones Expected to Increase

According to a recent report from “Global Smartphone Sales Forecast” on operating systems from the years 2007 to 2012, Windows Phone will gain an increase of 4% in the US market share up from 3.5% last year.

The Senior Analyst at Strategy Analytics, Scott Bicheno said that roughly 123 million windows smartphones will be sold in United States in 2012, giving Microsoft boost of twenty-one percent from last year’s 102 million units.

It must be noted that last year was a struggling point for windows phone sales but perhaps we are at the end of such an era for Microsoft. The three big mobile giants for this year sharing the largest portfolios of WindowsPhones are Nokia, HTC and Samsung. These three giants are expected to give the market a good competition in terms of sales, design, and display and will sure be watched closely by sales analysts for their sales growth .

While it may be said that the economy has dropped down since the recession, surprises still wait for mobile device companies if we check on this year’s sales analysis.
With all the rumors surrounding the release of the Windows Phone 8, only one conclusion may be drawn – Microsoft is on its way, trying to take down Android and Apple in the market. In its attempt to regain mobile dominance, Window Phone 8 is Microsofts best bet for increasing sales this coming fall. In this attempt by Microsoft however, the Executive Director at Strategy Analytics, Neil Mawston said its not going to be easy for Microsoft to beat its competition, considering that its market share in the United States remains to be relatively far-flung, so far as Apple and Android is concerned.
But, there is so much to expect from the release of the Windows Phone 8 and if Microsoft continue to make dramatic changes in its mobile platforms in the future, who knows?

    what?

I think that is 123M total phones sold in the US with Windows Phone getting 4% of that or ~ 4.92M.
