[ RUMOR ] – NUI on Windows Mobile 7 ?

Get Microsoft Silverlight

Natural User Interface (NUI) is a new term, but over the past few years it’s become an incredibly important one to Microsoft. In simple terms NUI for XBox is Natal. Dont get too excited you wont be getting Natal on WM7 but according to Principle Researcher at Microsoft Research (MSR) Bill Buxton, author of Sketching User Experiences NUI can make it over to WM7. At around 20:30 in to the video he gives an example of how it might be used on a mobile device.

Here is the Scenario :
Go in to a room ,take out your mobile device. Pair it with the large screen TV in the room ( via a gesture ) then work on the TV screen with the mobile screen as a touch pad / remote control.

Now fast forward to 34:40. Mobile phone becomes Microsoft Surface

We are hoping that these are possible New Innovations that WM7 will bring to the mobile world. There is also the possibility that some speech technology like the discontinued Microsoft Recite might come up in WM7.

Kudos to majg ( for a comment from istartedsomething.com ) for pointing us to the video.
