Slashgear is reporting ( with out sources ) that according to sales tracking firm GfK , five of the top fifteen devices sold were versions of Apple’s iPhone, with the Lumia 800 apparently failing to get into the top ten in either November or December. That seems really odd coz according to 3 UK the lumia 800 is the 2nd best according to Bestseller Rating and Vodafone UK has the lumia 800 listed as one of their Most popular phones. O2 did not allow me to check their store ( coz I don’t live in the UK , so if any of you folks from the UK could have a look and get back to us that would be appreciated ). Even on-line stores that sell unlocked devices like expansys UK has the Lumia in their top 10, so I find it very odd that the study conducted by the so called GfK failed to find the Lumia 800 in the top 10.

Nokia spokes person reached out to them with this message
“We have only started our journey to regain smartphone leadership, but we are pleased with the early results. The Lumia 800 is getting good traction in all six European markets where it has already launched. Initial feedback from India, Hong Kong, Russia, Singapore and Taiwan — where the Lumia 800 starting selling this week — has been very encouraging”
This is probably one of the iGroupies post to churn out some good press for Apple .. They are claiming ” five of the top fifteen devices were apple “.. pffff . That means the original, 3G, 3Gs, 4G , 4Gs all of them made it to the top 15 ??? I am calling bullshit on this one.

Not living in UK either, but using a online proxy can’t seem to find the Lumia (or any other WP7 phone)…

I smell something fishy here by FT.com because they don’t have any link to original GfK analysis. I’ve just taken a look on the O2 website and they don’t seem to sell any Windows Phone 7s at all, not even the Lumia. Doing a couple of quick searches seems to show that they use to sell WP7s but not any more it seems…
