remembeReel : a movie app worth having on your phone

remembeReel is an app that lets you keep track of movies that you have watched, it also lets you pick out your favorites so you always have the info about your favorites movies at all times. The app pull up the poster for the film along with some other info like cast , release date, etc ( for some reason synopsis seems to be always blank ) from Rotten Tomatoes’ database. Once you pick a movie you can add notes to the movies along with the date you watched a movie. You are also able to pull up movies that are similar to any title you have in you collection.

Adding a movie is as simple as searching for the name and the app bring up all the relevant movie it can find, then you just add a date you watch and notes and a fav star ( if you need to ) and hit save. If you want to add an upcoming movie ( or an old one ) that you want to watch then the wishlist section has got you covered once you finish watching it you can easily transfer the movie from the wishlist to your watched list. One recommendation I have here is the ability to sort the wishlist by date of release / RottenTomato rating, etc for the movie currently they just stack up by alphabetical order :(. The app also has a search feature which searches your collection and wishlist by cast, by your notes or by title. Best of all you can save a backup on to your skydrive account and restore it back to a new device if you lose your old one or had to format the phone.

There is room for improvements : sorting options in your collection and watch list, pulling up rating from RT database / imdb , ability to sort movies in to genre , add user rating perhaps 1-5 star and lanscape support ? So sum up the app a nice initial version, the app does have a long way to go but the idea behind it seems to be good and its worth keeping on your phone as long as the dev brings some of the updates we recommended via future updates.
