NDrive

Just few days after announcing free 7-days navigation program for Android phones, NDrive officially presents the same solution for all Symbian and Windows Mobile phone users.

Features of NDrive :

  • Immediate and fast re-routing after missing a right turn
  • Simple and intuitive user interface
  • Advanced itineraries with multiple waypoints for trip planning
  • Fast and easy calculation of alternative routes
  • Adventure Mode can guide you while trekking, bike riding, on boats and even on light aircrafts.

  • Points of Interest (POIs) with phone/fax numbers, description, email and website addresses
  • Navigating and searching for city centre, street names and numbers, crossings, postal codes, favourite places, recent locations, coordinates and nearby POIs
  • + many more…

Whereas iPhone and Android phones users are already well familiarized with advantages of using GPS navigation, the vast majority of Nokia, Samsung, Sony Ericsson and HTC owners have not even tried to use such software. For that reason, NDrive prepared on-board navigation with FREE 7-days maps – available for owners of Windows Mobile and Symbian mobile phones from over 70 countries. It is a great opportunity to learn more about the GPS software and compare professional navigation software with free online applications.
The software in its free version was published by NDrive in the last days of 2009 for testing purposes. Even though the information about it have not been communicated to wide audience, until now it was downloaded from the company servers in thousands of copies by now. This phenomenon was a motivation to make 7-day free navigation program an integral part of NDrive’s on-board navigation offer.

On-board (offline) solutions offer a much better user-experience than off-board applications that need uninterrupted Internet access and continuous data downloads. Moreover, NDrive’s navigation provides users with all features expected in professional car navigation. Turn-by-turn voice instructions, itineraries, searching by many different categories, three distinct modes of routing, favourites, points of interest and radar databases – all that can make users’ phones very interesting alternative to traditional personal navigation devices.

Navigation is compatibile with most of mobile phones using Windows Mobile and Symbian operating systems – not excluding such popular phones as Samsung Omnia, Nokia N96 or HTC Touch Pro. The full list of all tested with NDrive phones can be found on the webpage: www.ndriveweb.com/ndrive-software
All mobile users interested in NDrive free 7-days navigation software should visit NDrive at www.ndrive.com

How often does it update location data? If it’s too slow, using it for anything beside finding a stationary object will be impossible. Still, this is quite interesting. Applications for a high-update-rate version would be huge and wide ranging.
