PointUI Home 2 Free – a new UI for Windows Mobile users

PointUI Home 2

PointUI Home 2

PointUI Home 1 and 1.5 was a huge success when it was released, @ the time finger friendly interface was a hole new concept on Windows Mobile. Samsung’s TouchWiz and HTC’s TouchFlo were non existant @ the time. Now after working with some major carriers ( Bell, Telstra ) they have released a new FREE version of PointUI Home 2, Pro version with more features like Auto Lock and Haptic feedback will be coming soon ( we are not aware of the Pricing for it yet ). This is not just a Today screen replacement but a whole new UI. The interface looks nothing like the 1.5 interface so give it a go and let us know what you think about it.

It supports most of the resolutions

  • QVGA/WQVGA
  • VGA/WVGA
  • Sony Ericsson Xperia Panel

Thanks for the tip David [ via fuzemobility.com ] , check out the detailed review of the application with lot more screenshots @ mobilespoon

I have been using this for a few hours now, and it runs perfectly!!
A of the graphics are perfect on my 6700. This might be the first program that I would buy for my phone.

Downloaded it this morning. It’s pretty cool but after I entered a city to check for temp and hourly updates, the whole thing froze up. After 3 resets and still freezing up my HTC Touch, I removed it. Ashame, I really liked the UI.

I tried this out on my HTC Touch too. I didn’t have much success with it, but unlike John, it didn’t freeze, but it was very sluggish, so I didn’t delve into it much, and pulled it off the phone.

I suspect that it will perform better on the 500Mhz+ series smartphones, it looks like sophisticated interfaces have passed the 200Mhz phones by.

NOT WORKING. Even when i go to the installation folder and tap on the application icon it says that it cannot find a required component. Yes i do have dotnet CF 3.5, yes i performed a soft reset, i even reinstalled it again. Nothing.
My hardware: HP iPAQ 214, WM6.0, VGA
